Wow Ron you’re making some great progress!!!!

Real work is getting in the way for me to get any Pig work done so I’m going to have to spend my days looking at your great pictures and dreaming of the day!

J Mack,

I know that feeling, farm work is heavy right now, sneaking in the shop when I can. Wanted to thank you for suggesting the reusable fittings. They worked great. After it gets running and I see how the hot water system works, then I'll switch all those fittings and hose to the reusable type. It really helps when making up hoses, not running to get them crimped.

Great looking rig! And really like the paint combo.
Outstanding.... :beer::beer::beer:

I just had a horrifying thought... Sometimes I read build threads and they get close to the end and then just stop and no one hears from them again.

So Ron, I asking if you will make two promises. 1) keep this thread going even after the build is done. You know like a trip log or a maintenance log or thoughts on how things work or maybe things you would do differently.

2) Even though you deserve it, don't just ride off into the sunset when you are done! Stick around and share your knowledge and experience with those of us still struggling through our builds.

That pig looks amazing and like others I would love to hear and see it move under its own power. Hope to see you on the road soon.

Nick

Don't worry, the plan is to get it running, work out all the problems, then travel around the USA and meet some of you guys. I already have a list of redos for next year. FF rear axle with disc, new transfer case cross member, weld on the knuckle braces J Mack sent me, skid plates, so I've got a lot to keep the build going.

I know what you're saying about old builds and wondering how they are holding up, changes, etc. It never gets old looking at pig pictures!

Well, the PNW is at it's peak in August and Sept, so you'd better to get work! In all seriousness, the Olympic Mtns, San Juan Islands, and North Cascades are incredible areas to explore. If you do make it to NW WA, look me up, and we can talk farms and 55s:)

Thanks Guys!

All up the west coast is on the list. We've been to just about all the States, but not seeing what you can on the back roads and trails. Hopefully the Cruiser will take us there. I think it will be a lot of fun, meeting up with my Pig Brothers and having a cold one!

Looking good Ron, love the stance with the oem wheels and wider axles...may have discussed it already but what sort of front bar are you going with?

I'd like to keep the stock looking bumper, only heavier metal and some sort of tube grille guard angled back closer to the body, if that makes sense. Nothing wild or modern looking. Built around the winch.

David,

Without any doubts! If I fail at my attempts to make them, he would be first on my list to call. Playing with metal is one of the few things that relaxes me, so I've been looking forward to giving it a shot.

Pablo,

Here's a couple of the lights. I made a little bracket, so they sit at the right angle. They should be able to light up the drawers under the seats.

The lights are LED, but with the lens, the light should be a little defused, not so bright.

Sorry for the bad pictures, the camera needs some work.

Thanks Bob, for the offer. I actually have some decent stock bumpers. What I'm thinking of is making all new, stock looking, but heavy duty bumper and adding some sort of grille guard. Old School looking and rapped around the PTO winch. It's going to take a lot of Budweiser!
