Here's a couple more. One on each side of the dash and one in the Tuffy console. Switched from the dash.

I bought a couple of these from a MUD vender, a few years back. Mounting one in the Tuffy and wires run to the main starting battery. I believe in multiple layers of security.

J Mack,

On this type of tracker, do you have to worry about them removing the unit when stealing. I was thinking about the Lojack tracker, that the police track. I'm not up to speed with these systems, do you recommend them?

If you do a good job hiding it in a secure area and don’t talk about it on a public forum then no one would know to remove it. Like you said no one system could guarantee you’ll never lose your vehicle but multiple layers of security is a good idea and if someone hooks on it with a repo style tow truck ignition or battery kill won’t help and this will be your best chance to locate it.

The nice thing about the Smart Tracker vehicle recovery device is it can remain inactive until you decide to activate it so you don’t need to pay monthly fees if you only plan to use it for recovery.

I’ve been awarded fifty participation trophies on MUD in the last five minutes and I’m ready to shoot my computer :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

So tomorrow is a big day for me. The wagon goes in for wiring. Of course I'm not ready, 4 years and still not ready. I've been trying to mount stuff to be wired, so I don't have to go back and redo the harness. Brake controller, battery isolator, fridge in back, compressor in back and the all important USB ports for my Wife's " devices " and no I'm not asking!

The engine compartment is full, but still need to build a fan shroud. The only thing I don't have built yet are the roof rack and bumpers, which will have lights in them. Hopefully he can run the wires now, so I can tie into later.

The hotrod shop that's doing the work won't know what to make of the wagon. :) At least the boys will have something to talk about.

If anybody can think of something I should do before they get it, let me know...pictures!

I'm so excited to see this thing running! You gave me some new ideas talking about your wiring. Hopefully I can remember when I finally get to that lol.

Me too! Get it running and start working through all the problems, leaks and bad ideas. Even my Wife has started telling me to get in the shop and work on it.

Ron,

I just ordered some LMI Bolt-in fuse holder for single or multiple AMI fuses to run my electric fans and run a main fuse in the engine compartment. The wiring kit you ordered like mine comes with a single mega fuse for the main power going into the fuse block but the holder is kind of cheap and you cannot add to it, with the LMI Bolt-in fuse holder you can add several other fuses for under hood accessories like air compressors, pumps and fans and gang them together with your main 175 amp fuse.

Pig is looking great!!!

J Mack,

Those are nice! When I was talking to Steve, I think, at Perfect Switch about the Power Gate and my 250 amp alt, he suggested using a 250 amp fuse. So that LMI looks to be the way to go.

Thanks for some more good info.
