Hey Georg,

Good hearing from you. I'll be calling you soon, need some more parts!

Hey Ron,

What will you use to double flare the stainless steel lines?

I tried using one of the sort-of quality ones from summit but the clamp wouldn't hold against the die. The tube just kept getting pushed down without making the first flare. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I thought the tube was just too stout and I'd have to either buy the $180 thing (for a couple-times of use) or get the local tube shop to flare for me. Both options hurt as I like to do it myself, but I like to have SOME money as well.

TDC.-

Are you using a metric block? I used a standard block on mine and it had more grip

Gonzo,

I'm not sure what Travis is useing, I would think the standard 3/16ths line. I didn't use Stainless, because it's hard to double flare it. When I was ordering my line, I never ran across metric tubing. I know it's out there, just not as common.

Pablo,

You're right, sometimes I think an electric winch would be easier, but not cooler. From the shifter, gearbox, driveshaft and the winch, there's awhole lot of work involved. You'll get it.

I didn't have to rework the horizontal bolts, but the vertical bolts are M12-1.25-160, I couldn't find the right length, so I went with the 170mm. It works fine.

If it comes to it, can always have a machine shop cut down the bolt threads, to a different size.

Good luck with it, Ron

Thanks man, I will keep the faith!
Just needed to vent a little.
M12x1.25? I might actually have that size!

Finishing the roof up, no headliner.

Got my Monstaliner tintable bedliner, yesterday and had the paint shop mix up some Cygnus White color, to mix with the bedliner. Plan was to spray over the Lizard Skin, for a finished look.

Problem, the Lizard Skin is black, so I'm finding out the bedliner isn't wanting to cover so good.

The color, hard to tell, is darn close to the body color, I'm happy!

So far: One coat Zero Rust paint

Two coats Lizard Skin---Sound Dampener

Two coats Lizard Skin---Ceramic Insulation

Four coats Monstaliner---Bedliner

When I do the doghouse, I'll spray the roof one more time. Then the body goes back on the frame. :)

Xtiaan,

I'm trying to do what I can, while it's apart and then be done. Not really into carpets and padding, in this type of vehicle anyhow. Seeing how it's definitly not stock, I can get away with alot!

Not sure where it's headed, but we'll know, when we get there. :)

I ordered some spray cans of Cygnus White, from CruiserCorps and while waiting, I sprayed some Lizard Skin on the dog house.

The outside of the wheel wells have already been sprayed with the Monstaliner bedliner, so it's done. Now I want to wrap up the inside of the front clip.

So far: One coat of --- Zero Rust
Two coats --- Lizard Skin

Then I'll paint with the Cygnus White and finally two or so coats of the tinted white Monstaliner! Hopefully it will cover alot better with the paint on first. If it works good, I'll do the inside of the body the same. The thought is all this will quiet everything down and hold off any rust, until I'm done with it.

I'm useing buckets, because of my back. Not sure which ones, but I like these without the headrest. http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/sportseat/

Those look nice, problem I have with the Corbeau seats most people use is the bolsters. PITA to get in and out and too damn narrow once you get in :-(. Looks like they are trying to address with this model. I just put a pair of FJ80 buckets in mine, work pretty well but not the best seats in the world -

Tucker

Tucker,

I agree about the bolsters. I need some good lower back support.

Funny, I spent most the day with my Wife, shopping for living room furniture. I must of sat in dozens of chairs. HATE IT!!

Thanks Guys,

I'm not sure how I want to go about it. Pick n' pull and have them rebuilt or just buy new. I don't want them to look " plushy ", just something that works and looks like they came in the 55. I'm not asking for much, right.

While waiting on parts, I've been playing with small stuff.

Cruiser porn!

have those been re-plated?:smokin: after seeing all of this, I may just sell the wagon body to someone half as dedicated as you are, cause that'd be twice as much as I know I'll ever be able to do..... bring it on home man
