Hey Ron,
What will you use to double flare the stainless steel lines?
I tried using one of the sort-of quality ones from summit but the clamp wouldn't hold against the die. The tube just kept getting pushed down without making the first flare. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I thought the tube was just too stout and I'd have to either buy the $180 thing (for a couple-times of use) or get the local tube shop to flare for me. Both options hurt as I like to do it myself, but I like to have SOME money as well.
TDC.-
Pablo,
You're right, sometimes I think an electric winch would be easier, but not cooler. From the shifter, gearbox, driveshaft and the winch, there's awhole lot of work involved. You'll get it.
I didn't have to rework the horizontal bolts, but the vertical bolts are M12-1.25-160, I couldn't find the right length, so I went with the 170mm. It works fine.
If it comes to it, can always have a machine shop cut down the bolt threads, to a different size.
Good luck with it, Ron
I ordered some spray cans of Cygnus White, from CruiserCorps and while waiting, I sprayed some Lizard Skin on the dog house.
The outside of the wheel wells have already been sprayed with the Monstaliner bedliner, so it's done. Now I want to wrap up the inside of the front clip.
So far: One coat of --- Zero Rust
Two coats --- Lizard Skin
Then I'll paint with the Cygnus White and finally two or so coats of the tinted white Monstaliner! Hopefully it will cover alot better with the paint on first. If it works good, I'll do the inside of the body the same. The thought is all this will quiet everything down and hold off any rust, until I'm done with it.
I'm useing buckets, because of my back. Not sure which ones, but I like these without the headrest. http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/sportseat/
