Family one-owner...repaired once in '88 (the gray), and parked in about 2003. Full soup-to-nuts redo in the garage in 2020.

The above picks were 2014 in barn mode. Then 2023. Over that time it got the original 1F rebuilt, brakes redone with new master, booster and shoes, new clutch, 2.5” lift with Pro Comp springs and Bilsteins, knuckles rebuild, transfer case resealed, new TRE’s, vacuum 4 wheel drive rebuilt. Plus lots of smalls that I’m forgetting.

It's a 1980 model but I prefer the look of the earlier FJ's which is why I have the round front grill and none 80 model logos and turn signals.

Yeah what was left of the original paint was under brown primer and green paint. There are even a few places where there’s some yellow so it was also painted yellow at some point before the green . I mostly used citrus stripper and scraping, then light wet sanding. There was a lot of bondo used as leveling over bare metal that I removed and painted those areas with rustoleum regal red and sanded that to remove gloss and “age” it. Same with any new metal, and there is lots of that. Build thread (‘63 FJ45) link is in sig line. Here’s a link to one of many posts in that thread wrt paint stuff.

The oldest pic i have and it has came so far since then. Circa 2005, I always did love the stance and tires I had for it then. I know they were made by interco 33x12.5 r15. I know the bezel is wrong, I was young and dumb lol
