Most arches I've seen non-stock are sound-matted and then covered with either the OEM arch fabric or cut-your-own style and tucked under the regular floor carpet. I saw this liquid sound deadener recently that you could try to paint over with: Spectrum™ Sludge Deadener - https://www.secondskinaudio.com/sound-deadening/spectrum-sludge
I’ve had good luck with Lizard Skin but I’m not thinking of that route really.

I’d load it up with Dynamat like I did the doors and sides but I need something to cover that up after.

It is like a 40 when you leave my driveway every day with gravel hitting those fenders. Loud.

If I had any carpentry skills I’d just shelf out the sides of the drawers to cover it all up.

May have that done.

These parts are not available.
I assumed they were not still available from Toyota. Sometimes you get lucky with some NOS items though.

Help me out here, I don’t know how to string those above part numbers into something searchable.
I just cut and paste the number into Google one at a time.

Again, I was pretty sure they wouldn't be available from Toyota but occasionally I have gotten lucky and found some NOS items. Was just trying to help.

Not to belabor this discussion longer than necessary but this Ebay ad shows 7 available in Oak for each side. I have no idea if they are vinyl or carpet but assuming vinyl since it's the STD model part numbers. I have never used this supplier so caveat emptor.

I'm guessing there are lots of nice options though for the ~$300 they would cost.

My 1988 FJ70 (LX-trim) had wheel arch covers similar to those of a 60 series from the same era. My 1990 FJ75 troopie (STD-trim) did not and the different was palpable, so I sourced some shortie ones. Ours used to get wet regularly inside so we didn't put sound deadening under them.

You may want to take it to your local upholstery shop (that might be a longer drive in Miss, or maybe y'all have some boat interior places?) and have them made for you out of gray carpet to match the interior. I don't think it will be too expensive and then you can put some sound deadener under the carpet.

@jomelo for the win

Well shoot. The Planted seat base that the ScheelMann mounts to that they sell fit this generation 70 series does not work for the FZJ70.

Gonna have to have the Wizard fab some proper tabs on the base plate.

This is a rabbit hole I went down that cost WAY too much money to buy with all new OEM parts

I love how these things look back here on the FZJ70.

I got the Can holder and Licence plate holder from @Racer65 but the new hinges and black bracket came from Partsouq

While I had the panel off I lined the door with sound mat. It’s in all the panels except the passenger side Amby door.

That looks awesome and was worth every penny! 👍🏻🍻🥃

Fairly sure you have Troopy bases. Planted should have two different brackets. One for a Troopy floor and then another for non Troopy 70 series.

All I see is the one I got and a 78/79 series.

They also have one for a suspension seat.

Now we're cooking with peanut oil! Factory gas can, factory pintle hitch (which incidentally, works really well with the lunette on an M416), this thing's looking like a proper shorty now! :)

I’ve towed my little Saudi trailer with it a few times. Solid setup.
