Maybe I missed this about the rig, but what’s your goal/purpose for this rig? (Not that you need one)

I see you have the oddball for trips and
Wheeling. Is this your new daily and run around? Planning trips with it or mainly a short run hauler?

Daily driver and off road truck where I don’t need the lockers and suspension that the oddball has.

Plus I have always wanted one. Way back at the turn of thr century I did Golden Spike in Moab with a Canadian BJ70. Wanted one ever since

Adding the drawers and loading them down really took the chop out of the ride.

I have a little more weight to add to it and it’s really going to be a super smooth ride with the Dobinsons IMS.

You need a longer shot to see how deep Golden Spike really is.....

Short E got the rear shims and the Tom Woods double cardan shaft today.

5* shims

Also, my passenger side was sitting high so I took the bottom tiny leaf out and put it on the top. Made my own leveling kit and it worked beautifully

Here is the shaft in place. Not at rest. The way this truck rides the 2 post lift it’s tilted down.

Here is is on the ground.

I took it for a spin and all the “take off” vibrations are gone. Kinda felt like a warped flywheel is the way I can describe it. It’s all gone now. Butter smooth.

Just full on adding crap for the fun of it. Quick Fists are old school cool for hanging tools.

Hope I never need any of this stuff.

There is a cooler in all my daily drivers so I can get popsicles for Red home from Kroger this time of the year 😬

Before I go reinventing the wheel…

Does anyone make a fender blanket that is fitted for the 70 rear fender?

I’ve put sound deading in the floors, doors and sides and this is my last obstacle.

I can put down dynamat but then I would have to cover it

Thoughts?

I'll bet a 76 series' wheelhouse covers will fit near perfectly. There are OEM vinyl and carpet options, mostly in bluish grey but brown is an option too for ME production.

Nolan they were available on the LX and the STD version. Not sure what year this 70 is but this data is from a '96 LX model.

62613FCOVER, QUARTER WHEEL HOUSE, RH
62613-60320-03BLUISH GRAY, TRIM1*1
62613-60320-E0OAK, TRIM4*1
62614ECOVER, QUARTER WHEEL HOUSE, LH
62614-90K03-03SHADOW GRAY, TRIM1*1
62614-90K03-E0OAK, TRIM4*

A one minute google search shows this ebay ad. No idea if it's actually available.

These are the part numbers for the STD model:

62613FCOVER, QUARTER WHEEL HOUSE, RH
62613-60290-03BLUISH GRAY, TRIM1*1
62613-60290-E0OAK, TRIM4*1
62614ECOVER, QUARTER WHEEL HOUSE, LH
62614-90K00-03SHADOW GRAY, TRIM1*1
62614-90K00-E2OAK, TRIM4*

Interesting side note. When I was searching the data base, there were no GCC LX models shown, only STD versions. I had to widen the search to other countries with LHD to find an LX. Below is the only GCC version I could find.
