You guys that are coming in Friday, what's your schedule? I know the Thursday group will be turning tires early Friday morning so thought it would be a good idea to coordinate a little. The only rigs I don't know are Danny and S-40 so if you guys get there later than 10-10:30 Friday morning just throw down near our camp if we aren't there. Look for a 4 Dr F150 hooked to a trailer and a silver quad cab dodge (might be towing to Tr 75) and a ton of empty beer cans sitting next to our chairs.

Weather looking good, lots of rain this week, followed by sunny weather.....
:D

ive got a line on that part so as long as i can pick it up tomorrow from the shop or get one shipped out this week, ILL BE THERE!!!!!!!
And I see you all are planning very diligently but I'm kinda planning on just going and seeing what trails look fun, easy or difficult.

IIRC Windrock had good cell coverage so maybe phone numbers would be a good idea to exchange since i doubt the CBs will be able broadcast that far.

Last I heard, about a week ago, he was going. Making it a little family vacation. But his plans change pretty frequently so I'm not 100% sure now.

wont be able to make it

By 9:30 I hope to be chest deep in Walden's ridge.

Anybody else able to figure this out? Is he maybe using Nick's version of math? :flipoff2:

We are heading up late afternoon on Friday, because of school/work commitments... we will see you all Friday evening! I will have the whole family and one of the dogs in tow...

Also - If y'all are going on a bunch of crazy bat-s*** trails, I might need to ride shotgun in someone's rig. I don't have a repair budget at the current time... :-)

It's become pretty evident we're breaking into 2 groups of roughly 5-6 rigs each. Those who ride crazy bat-s*** trails and those who don't. :flipoff2:

I am assuming the "wagon" crowd as they have become known as have an agenda already or will piece one together. See above conversations about Caryville Flats and other more moderate trails.

The bat-s*** crowd (of which I am a member of) already has our agenda pretty well worked out... Tr 75 on Friday and Atomic Ridge on Saturday with the details to be worked on upon arrival. :steer:

Happy trails and see everyone around the campfire Friday night.

I know I will not. Mostly aggressive moderate trails with mud. I am not a rock climber and have no cage in my truck. Besides its my daily driver.

Does anyone else on this trip even have a 2-meter? I wish I did; be pretty cool to be up on WR Friday and be able to keep tabs on each group.

No but I do have a cell phone. My frequency is 10 digits long and specific to my device.

Finally!!! The Gecko is 90% ready. Still gotta top off the fluids, reorganize all the inside & outside storage, and bolt on the front tires - hopefully after reseating one of the beadlocks.

Then on to a bunch of little preps on the tow rig, WMO fueling, packing and loading. Probably not going to finish tonight as I'd hoped. Hopefully able to get out of work early either today or tomorrow though, which will help a lot.

155 posts and we aint even there yet...

Me and John are rolling out around 3:00 tomorrow, hopefully puts us up there before 8:00. Rig has new brakes, new cases (notice the plural) and some preventative bolt tightening all done, doors will not be making this trip though. Was even watching vids of Atomic Ridge last night on the tube of you. Hopefully all goes well.

Relocated John's CB anennae to front, ran dedicated power so hopefully his CB works a little better now. Also threw a bigger battery in there for more winchin' just in case.

Nick-- Still broken and has to work :flipoff2:

Will get grocery store run done and load the trailer tonight just in case something pops tomorrow at work and interrupts my schedule. I'm pumped, this is gonna be a great trip. Weather is looking spectacular.

tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock!

and not all can hear what we are discussing and meet up plans..Cell service is spotty, but pretty good.
I can see it now....
conversations with Ted to Andrew.... ya.. meet us up at 10am, that is 9:45am for you Andrew.... lets meet at...(static, lost signal)...
Andrew does not respond... Ted hears, what, can you repeat, your garbled...
Ted responds...... wait... I just lost you, can you hear me... Let me back up onto this ledge that I just crossed that took me 10 min to get over and call you back....

Signal and conditions fade.... Ted gives up.... Andrew thinks to himself.... man I wish they would "man up" and get a ham radio....

Yeah that was a gift for sure but I give Andy a pretty hard time so every once in awhile I lob one up there for him to see if he can hit it.
