Don't know if this will work for others but below is a link to the gas station I've always talked about parking at for T75. The place is actually called Ginger's Deli and Grocery. Called and spoke to Ginger and got approval for us to park there - yes, I told her that my rig is an 18-wheeler. Getting everyone in there without blocking the place up might take some doing, but it's possible (parking in the back most likely; check the satellite view). She said she should be there around 0930 Friday and I figured that'd be about right for us unless, miraculously, we get out of the campsites at the crack 'o dawn.
Hmmmm, speaking of dawn.... :hhmm: ................. Sunrise from the overlook on Walden's Ridge - how cool would that be.

You still need that bleeder screw? I bet you could throw a metric bolt in there to seal it off to get you by.

How close are you to ACC? I bet if you could find your way there today during the swap meet, if it's still going on, you'd either walk away with one, or could have one within a few days from someone there.

its not so much the bleeder screw as it is the metal around where the bleeder threads into. an important chunk of the actual sensor broke off.

Yeah im gonna give them a call Tuesday since i couldnt get a ride to the swap today. hopefully someone left one since they didnt feel like bringing it home.

My latest thoughts on what to ride:
T75 is already set for Friday morning and I REALLY want to go run Atomic Ridge after that. Not only have I never run it, but this is probably the last time I'll ever have great weather and great traction at Windrock. And A.R. is normally way outta the way from camp, but from the gas station by W.R., its just a few miles of pavement and you're right at it (G1/T8/T23).
For Saturday, I bet we can squeeze in Ted's idea of down 3, down 40a, up Caddy and then go run 12 backwards. Even if it starts getting dark coming out of 12, we should be past most of the bad stuff and not have much trouble coming out the north side.
Then, if anyone feels like a Sunday ride, get out super early and go run 15 and 38. Still be on the trailers by noon if all goes well.

Just me thinking out loud here. :)

I don't really care where we go, was just throwing out the 3/40a/caddy loop and the Tr 12 as options. We've done the Tr 3/40A and partly Caddy Hill thing so it'd be nice to see some new trails. Don't think I've ever laid eyes on Atomic Ridge so I'm game. I was over at John's shop yesterday and he's still not sold on Tr 75. I'm doing it though, after all the crap we talked about that trail there is no backing out now.

I see you all have a plan in the works, and I see from the list there'll be several trucks that can't follow you'll. is anyone "in charge" or planning anything for the smaller or not as hard core rigs. I've looked everywhere and since my move I can't find my windrock map but I like to plan ahead. I'm gonna keep looking for it but is anyone else working on a plan.

also does anyone have an swr meter they can bring. I lost my last whip on the last trip to windrock and I'm installing a new one, along with new coax and mount this week but don't have a way to tune it, I have no swr meter.

I may have an SWR meter available. I usually have mine wired in-line full time by my recent center console mods make it available.

No one is "in charge" of anything, more of a just show up and do what we do. Andrew may have some input on where to go or Robustbambi (Patrick) assuming he gets off the couch and fixes his junk in time. If it were me I'd be figuring out an interesting route up to Caryville Flats for a full day ride. It's a long ways from camp up to the north side of the park but who cares. You have a winch? That opens some things up a bit as well.

There is a link to an online trail map I posted the other day which will help but it's not completely up to date.

Steve, just noticing this. That's a good find on the parking but how are you going to squeeze that rig in there? My truck and trailer should fit no problem but yours? Is this the start point or end point? Either way we should pitch her a few $$ for allowing us to use.

BTW, who has firewood? I have some but not enough to feed the fire for 3 nights.

I'm not hugely excited about 3/40a/Caddy either and would opt for 15/38 instead, but that's still "trails we've done". Not many other hard trails to choose from that we've not done. There is the rock garden on 16 between 2 and G12 though.

A.R. would be best to leave til last, but it'll be pretty convenient to access after W.R. Although it wouldn't be too bad to hit from the north end of 12 either.

Tell John that his truck with skill level will have no problems on W.R. There is only one spot that was actually dangerous, but only if you do something stupid. With crawler gears and a trustworthy spotter, he'll have no problems at all. I was the longest wheelbase in my group and actually was able to "crawl" down the big dropoff that scared everyone else so bad. The only truly scary section is very short and, if he doesn't want to drive it himself, one of us can certainly hop in and take it across.

Don't know who will be leading the other group. Not even positive who's for sure coming for that group yet. Someone will take the lead at some point hopefully. And as for the map, don't even worry about finding your old one if it's more than a year old; They revise two times a year now so just grab a new one when you get there.

15 is a must, hell we go right by it, 38--Ok. But i keep thinking we're missing a tiny but good trail, look just to west of 15 and you'll see 46... what is this?

Saving AR for last is a double edge sword. I understand the logic but at the same time if we break something it could make for a very long Sat night -- Like Golden Mtn. I propose if we do AR we do it Sat morning and assuming we get through it unscathed and with enough time we shoot over to 12 and run it N to S. open to other ides as well.

My plan is to pull in to the left side of the building (north end). There is a pull-through that has plenty of length. Getting in might take a little effort, but getting out will take a lot more. Probably going to require some road guards/spotters as I back out into the road. Unless I can back up in an arch all the way to the other side then pull straight out and left (south).
I certainly plan to at least buy some gas and snacks there before and/or after T75. And if everyone else patrons the store in some fashion, I think she'll be pretty happy. I we want to though, we can take up a small collection to give her a "thank you". Am planning to talk to her about opening up an actual parking area for tow rigs since, as I mentioned earlier, Atomic Ridge is also a LOT more convenient to there than the CC parking lot.
This gas station is about halfway between the two ends of the trail. Timewise, it's probably a little closer to the north end though since that's all straight flat blacktop; the south end is blacktop-hardpack-gravel and switchbacks up the mountain.
No firewood here, sorry.

No clue. I wonder if there's a chance it's just the V-notch side of 15? Doesn't look that way though. We could skip going in 15 and hit that 21a, which is obviously there for exactly the reason we'd want it for: to get to the bottom of 46 w/o having to hit 15. Or we could just do 15 to 38 and go left onto 46. If we like it, we'll come back up it. If not, we'll make a left on 21 and out or down to 21a and out. I can tell you that the zig-zag part of 21 down to 22 is no fun and should be avoided.

I agree for the most part, but my primary consideration about A.R. is to NOT have to do it when we're coming from, and therefore having to travel back to, the Windrock parking area. We're going to have to stop to put gas in the tanks on that drive back! That has to be at least an hour drive on G1. Though if we DO do that, I will fo SHO be ready for a few  by the time we hit camp!!!

Looks like I might lead the wagons crew if nobody else has been there. Make sure everyone has communications gear. I will start reviewing the map.

I'm pretty sure both Dennyp and Fattires have been.

Fattires--I'm getting the impression you own the perty green stock 40 that happened along Andy and his crew on 16 Saturday afternoon at GSMTR. Do I have that correct?

I do have a winch. I have not been in Ga yet although I love waffle house. my rig is the yellow (mustard) fj40. I took some advice and took the hard doors off and left them home and put some soft doors on it for the trip. it is currently at wind rock waiting for me. anyone who has an interest in doing moderate to mild trails contact me or dannyP so we can develop a plan of action ( what trails what time and day to facilitate everyone connecting that is on the same level of interest.

better yet!! if someone knows the trails there an is planning to do the easier stuff let it be known where you 'll be at what day and time so we all can all get together. thanks.
