Saw this thread and thought, hell my son’s Traxxas 2wd is pretty fun. There’s still some snow. Let’s have at it.

Well folks. I’d say this is a compelling case for 4wd. :)

I've been working on this Tamiya Toyota Land Cruiser Pick up FJ45 (GF-01) for about a year. Need to finish painting the shell & driver (planning to do the Stig) and adding the LED lighting kit. It's a blast to play with at speed, but not the best with steep inclines due to the short wheel base and will flip on itself. I did locked the front and rear differentials to improve traction at the expense of the turn radius. It's more of a wheelie / tumble vehicle than a scale offroader.

Underside shot with the Yeah Racing, GPM, and Tamiya upgrade bits.

Here is the Yeah Racing wheelie bar.

Here is an example of a finished truck. It's technically 1/10 scale?

I also got the 6x6 version and starting to build it up. Probably gonna keep that one stock for a while. I'm hoping to do Tamiya CC-01 scale build and trying to find a 100/105 series body.

Well, I guess I need one of these now...

Yep, portals, hi/low t-case and electric lockers front and rear. Based on trx-4 platform.

LHS got 1, it looked lonely so I asked if it wanted to come live at my house and...

I will share more once we get home :)

Well, my hyperion charger took a dump on me so no runs yet, but I made a run to LHS and picked up a HiTec dual port charger.

So while things are charging I figured I'd grab a few glamour shots.

Good looking body. Just lexan with some bolt-on shiny bits.

Standard 4-link setup typical of most rigs these days.

It has a nice floor pan to help keep things clean. Traxxas has a nice layout for everything.

The lockers are little cable lockers, pretty slick.

I got a couple more I will throw up shortly.

Few more.

Portals!

The weight of the truck as a whole is great and the suspension will cycle really nicely right out of the box.

Pretty neat little truck.

Selling my crawler. It’s based on a AX10 chassis. I got it from Johnny about a year ago I think. I like it a lot but Bottom line is I just don’t use it. Kids have quicker trucks so I’m usually running my Rustler. Has a new axial AE-2 est and two brand new lips that haven’t been used and tons of spare parts, extra motor, etc. Pm me if your interested.

Nathan got his first real hobby grade Crawler in November 2011 for his 6th birthday, an Axial AX10 Scorpion. He had had several cheap box store toy RC's before then. A month or so after his birthday, Nathan had gotten pretty good with his Axial and he asked me to make him his very own Youtube video. He wanted Motorhead playing in the background. I had kind-of forgotten about the video until just the other day. I like watching it just to remember how little he was then and to appreciate how much he has grown. I know, sappy, but 6.5 years and 7 RC cars later, here it is:

Man this thread brings up some memories. Back in middle school/high school I was really big into RC trucks. Built 2 SuperMaxx's from scratch (one predator-chassis based truck and one thunder-chassis based truck, had a couple of T-Maxx's, a 2WD Stampede with a VXL kit that was converted to snow use with paddles and ski's, E-Revo Brushless, Mini and Micro-t's, and a few other smaller trucks. Never built a scale crawler but always wanted to. I sold all my trucks and most of my stuff off when I went to college and fell out of it since then.
