That is a lot better than we were expecting!

i headed off to the local store and loaded up on brass and stainless toothbrushes / plastic scrapers and some simple green type cleaner and cut up about 10 tshirts that were at the end of their lives.

30hours in on cab interior later/ 3 broken brushes/ 2 worn bristless/ 1 day pause due to bloodblister on scrubbing hand and shes startin to clean up:

That pan is in far better condition than I expected. Bravo .

yeah - im sorta shocked. But i found the culprit for all the water and it turns out the p.o. siliconed shut ALL of the footwell and bed holes. I literally spent and hour just picking silicone sealer out of every drain hole, nut hole and seam inside the cab. Every seam had a thin bead of clear silicone gel so while it had turned into a seasonal swimming pool - im guessing it helped preserve all seams from major rust.

You should add a lottery ticket to your list of items to buy today, you're on a serious lucky streak with that 40.

You gotta' go back and pay the seller the $7000 now.
Otherwise, you're a thief. :D

Good score though.

I'm sure it has been very rewarding bringing this ol' girl back to her former glory.

Good find that looks great it cleaned up really nice

Wow! Nice save. Does it run?

yes- f.5 is real smooth. clutch is probably on its last leg- but it may be the MC....need to pm all that. there was a vibe in the rear around 40mph but i ordered some axle shims from George to correct driveshaft angle. exhaust from header back was recently redone and sounds great.

missing oem items thus far are :

- both running boards.
- seats
- bows and top
- apron emblems
- radio or delete plate
- door straps and eyebolts
- upper bed/ bow retainer/holddown. ( i will probably fabricate these to oem spec)

if anyone is selling or sees stuff- im interested in keeping this old girl as oem as possible.
