Haha, what is this "Instagram" you speak of :). Kidding aside, I'll be updating this thread shortly with several projects that are closing out in preparation for SAS this year. Hope you're doing well Nolen.

Cheers, James

After a bunch of business travel I’ve been able to keep things moving forward with the 75. First up was receiving the drawer system I worked with Truck Vault on. I handed off a preliminary concept in CAD to them and after some back and forth to tweak this for their manufacturing, this is what we ended up with. Two main weathertight drawers that are 63” x 16” x 10” high, plus three cubbies that lock but aren’t weatherproof and two side panels that lift off for added storage around the wheel wells. Super happy with the results!

Dayum. Sick ass S-Works. 🤘🤘 With Toyota color scheme.

Are those wheels beadlocks? I remember you saying so.
They aren’t full beadlock but they do have a lip on the inner part of the flange to help hold the bead in place. Braid does off these with a full beadlock too. I’ve run them down to 1 bar (14.5psi) with no issues.

Made some more progress on the prep for SAS. Replaced the brake booster with an 80 series booster and clevis from @cruisermatt which makes the replacement a snap. The clevis extends the input rod and fit perfectly. They are on his website. What a difference, highly recommend this upgrade if anyone has a booster on the way out. The only other alteration required is to run a new piece of vacuum line from the intake manifold to the booster as I’ve shown below. I also got a sized cargo webbing net for the rear which utilizes the L track I have on the drawer system.

More progress: Electrical night! Installed the kit from @Fourrunner which went smoothly and thanks for a great product. Nice to upgrade as some of the ground straps were showing their age. Still have some minor cleanup with the wiring around the battery tray but happy with the results. Also pulled the dash apart so I could run 12VDC to my GPS cradle and my GMRS radio. Wasn't able to complete the mechanical install on the radio which is planned next week.

Surely you're going to tear it down further and get all that fine KSA dust out of there? I actually tore mine down twice as I had 2 screws and a nut (IIRC) left over the first time. 😂

Today was the tow point install project. @TRAIL TAILOR makes some nice tow points that are soft shackle friendly. Since I have an ARB bumper, I needed to make a small relief in the lower cross tube so the points would fit flush with the mounting surface. This relief will have no impact on the structural integrity of the bumper. If you’re interested in doing this, I’ve included a detailed parts list below:

2X 160mm X M12 x 1.75mm Class 10.9 bolts. (McMaster-Carr part number below, recommend them over sketchy Amazon for mission critical fasteners)
2X 50mm X M12 x 1.75mm Class 10.9 bolts
4X M12 hardened washers
4X M12 x 1.75mm black oxide prevailing torque nuts

The installation was straightforward once I had cut back the cross tube by about 12mm. Pretty happy with the results!

Started mocking up the water tank install. I wanted a way to carry water that doesn’t alter the aesthetic of the 75 yet still provides some practicality while camping and general usage. Trail’d makes a nice ~62 liter (7 gallon) tank that fits where the spare goes. They also have a larger model but I felt this might be too big. The initial fitment looks great and I’ll be adding this pump too, along with an inlet and outlet bracket just above the hitch to keep this inconspicuous. This will also provide some additional weight over the axle which will help with traction.

Here’s a couple pictures of the tank off and installed:

I have the tank located at a slight angle as the inlet and outlet fittings are on the flats on the side of the tank. I also found a nice spot to mount the pump.

Heading out from Princeton NJ with a destination of Austin, TX. Drove the truck down from CT yesterday and it’s running like a charm. Looking forward to some miles and adventure. Staging the truck in Austin in preparation for SASx in August, wooohooo.
