The lower rotating inertia must be great for accel. I'd say lighten the flywheel a few lbs, but you probably want some amount of inertia for low rpm/torq off road/crawling. A trade off perhaps.
Thanks for sharing the details. Sourcing the pistons and rods must have taken some work.
