I'm definitely eye-ballin' your setup. Once you get the fuel pump changed out and get a chance to run a few tanks thorugh, I would appreciate if you could post up a number. I'm very interested to know! TIA.

H55 Length

Lou,

What is the length difference of the H55 as opposed to a stock 4-speed? The reason I ask is that you had replied to my post on using a Marks Adapter on a 55 that Lance did not need to use it with yours. Ironpigoffroad says that a Marks will work on a 55. I'm just trying to see what length or difference in shifter location there is between a H55 and a stock 4-speed. This may tell why he didn't see the need for the marks.

By the way, that is a VERY sweet 55 you have. I'm jealous!

Thanks

MTRDUD, you should have an email from Lance with the details regarding 4speed with Marks. I spoke to him this morning and he said he'd email you the details. If you plan on installing a V8 you should consider a 5 speed. Most of my driving is on paved roads so I just removed the 33x12.5-15 MTZ and put the Michelin 32x11.5-15's back on for a smoother ride, but this thing will rock down the highway at 70 to 80 easy with the 5 speed.

55

Lou,

I just got the info from Lance and it clears up a lot of issues for me. I would love to have the 5-speed but the $$ are too much for me right now. I'll probably just have to live with the 4-speed for now. I appreciate you contacting Lance for me.

Thanks,
Clyde

wow, that is one of the sweetest looking pigs i've ever seen . .. i also have the tan door panels and tan seating (all recreated of course) . . . a great look

Porn Tags

Thanks, you got pic's of your interior? Love to see it. Got my new Mud tags today. Someone has the correct IH8MUD tag in Va. Funny thing Va DMV rejected my first request for this
tag. After a bit of research and the fact that IH8MUD was on the street they sent me the tag.

Pig Parts

I wanted to post pictures of some parts that I have. Not sure what I should keep and restore and what to get rid of. I'm open to sell it all if someone can help with the pricing. I can ship it UPS from work. Anybody? If this needs to be posted in the for sale section let me know

Regards

A/C

This section was on the passenger side, I believe the defrost comes from your floor heater. I replaced this A/C and my floor heater with the Vintage A/C and heat with defrost which blows hard. The only sticker on the unit is in the photo and I Googled Lardy Mfg and found nothing.

Clardy's were mostly in 40's as a dealer installed unit. This is the first time I have ever seen one in a 55. Learn something new every day.

A/C

Yeah, Lou , aka n2666s pm'd me the same info, they were bought out two years ago and the number is disconnected. BTW if anybody needs any of the parts, pm me.

Regards

A/C

Here's what I found www.airproair.com they bought Clardy, did not find any full units , but they could be a great source for parts, blower motors etc....

:idea:My was to see if they still had the pattterns available and would be willing to fab them again so we would have a bolt in AC unit for the piggies:hhmm:

Not much to report, my trucks at IPOR having the new fuel pump installed but I did receive the Fog Lights from CruiserDan and the Brackets and switch from Mot, to my surprise he included a small gift.

Awning, What not to do

My first outing with the 55 was not wheeling, it was the Virginia Gold Cup (steeplechase racing) it's a all day event, lots of drinking, eating and betting on the horses.
So I pull the 55 into my space , the first thing I do is set up the ARB awning. The awning is really easy to set up, it has poles that extend from the base that's mounted to the rack out to the metal track that retains the poles that extend to the ground. So there no need to stake it to the ground (cord and stakes come with the awning). Well, that what I thought!!!

As I head to the cooler for a cold one a gust of wind picks the awning up like a kite and flips it over the truck, poles are flying around(nobody got hit), the aftermath I have three snapped plastic pole attachments.

Lessons learned, always stake down your awning before you reach for a cold one!!!!

ARB has two of the three plastic attachments in the mail, the third one is coming from AU. I need to use the awning in a couple of weeks so I headed to Home Depot and bought a Hickory hammer handle , about $5 bucks and made a pole attachment.
