I didn't look for an OEM tint color since I was looking to replace all the windows and was going to be fine with a dark grey. But I do know there is some bronze tinted Poly.

Where can I search to match color?

This might be a start

Ya, you need polycarbonate (lexan), and not acrylic plexi. acrylic shatters easily.
We use acrylic for some of our point of sale tablets at work. While doing tablet repairs I have to turn down the drills while screwing them back together or they will crack. They also scratch really easily.

I pointed out 3 pages ago Plexi/Arcylic it is a terrible material for this purpose. It breaks and shatters easily. Polycarbonate or one of the advanced Poly's like Mak15, you can get them in UV and scratch resistant and like the video above they stand up to massive abuse.

I would go 3/8" for this.....

I'm not sure about massive abuse. My wife swings a better crowbar!

Guys have shown strong interest in a tinted scratch resistance plastic to match existed tinted windows. We are looking at local suppliers to find a price reasonable product to meet all of the needs. With window tint not all the same I will be looking for something slightly darker to match my tint.:grinpimp:

Talked with my strut guy and struts (everyone suggest 2, more so when the 1/4" plastic option came up) can be added without drilling holes in the panel. 3m makes some of the most awesome VHB tape for any use.;)

Overall the fit, finish, and ease of operation is top notch. Even with no carriers on the back of my Land Cruiser I find these super nice and convenient to have given my set up and needs.

Thanks for the strong support, interest, and positive feedback on the design you guys have shown.

Are you abandoning metal or just adding plastic as an option?

Adding for sure, the same CNC router is able to cut both plastics and aluminum.

After talking with people that travel outside of the US the solid panel gives a higher mental level of wanted security.

I need to limit my thickness to 1/4" in order to work with the current panel design and seals. Any recommendation or suggestions on available materials fitted for the needs are welcome:)

Picture would be perfect if only your were holding an aluminum can.

Mo better?
