Have guys been able to track down just the bushings in the lower/upper control arms for the rear?

Seems that most guys are up'ing the sturdiness of the lower control arm and I too am very interested in this. However, for now I'd like to just see if I can press bushings into the OEM Toy rear arms. I'd like to this first and then consider up'ing the lower control arm down the road.

80-Series bushings only...no 100 bushings available from Toyota. And sometimes they're a biotch to press out...couldn't get mine out even with a 60t press...and the upper bushing housings were ovalized.

I made and offer for sale bushing crush sleeves for 80-Series bushings so you can run the 100-Series 14mm mounting bolts if you don't want to drill out to the 18mm 80-Series bolts. And I'm running 80-Series bushings on lower and upper...they work fine.

Northeaster Runner -

Can you clarify what's in the "kit"?

"KIT097K - Trailing Arm & Panhard Rod Kit (for the Rear only) Kit Contents: - Trailing Arm Lower Bushing All, 2 Bushings,2 Inner Tubes x 2; - Trailing Arm Lower Bushing All, 2 Bushings,2 Inner Tubes x 2; - Panhard Rod Bushing, 2 Bushings,2 Inner Tubes x 1."

$225 for about 6 bushings seems atrocious if I'm reading the website correctly (quote above). Maybe I'm not understanding what's really in the kit. Can you help?

Spresso - PM the details. Didn't see anything about it in your sig lines. I maybe interested. Thanks.

Darin/Spresson what ended up happening here? I got my read upper control arm bushing pressed out thinking I had the bushing in a big box of stuff I ordered now I can't find new bushings and it;s $250 for new upper rear control arms from the dealer, ouch.

Can I just get and have 80 series bushings pressed on?

Did some more searching looks like my only options are new rear upper control arms for the 100 series or to get the 80 Series bushings, bore out the 100 bars a little to fit in the larger mounting bolts. I'm driving down to ABQ to get 80 series bushings tomorrow.

Yah, I know it's only about $100 cheaper to do the bushings and likely the local shop will charge me something to bore them out, but I want to get it all done in the next day or two and the bars would need to be shipped in so they won't get done this week.

80-Series OEM control arm bushings will work as the the bushing is the same OD for both 80 and 100 models. However the 80-Series bushing utilizes an 18mm diameter mounting bolt whereas the 100-Series utilizes a 14mm diameter mounting bolt.

So...if you opt to go with 80-Series bushings you will need to do one of the following:

Enlarge the mounting bracket holes at each mounting position on the 100 from ~14mm to ~18mm diameter AND purchase the 18mm diameter 80-Series mounting bolts, washers and nuts...

OR

...use a custom crush sleeve that is inserted in to the 80-Series bushings to reduce the bushing bore from 18mm diameter to 14mm diameter and use 100-Series mounting hardware.

FWIW: Toyota lists the mounting bolts/nuts for the rear upper and lower control arms as mandatory replacement parts apart of this job. I don't always replace the bolt and nut but I always replace the special Belleville style lock washer Toyota uses for securing their rear control arms. Make sure you pay attention to the convex and concave sides of these lock washers as they only work as lock washers if the convex side is facing the head face of the nut.

Aww crap, I saw that Metal Tech has some replacements so I bought the rear upper and lower links. Guess I'm going to take my wife's F150 out to the plains next week.

We have the bushings for both the upper and lower arms in stock to fit 80 and 100 series.

How difficult are these bushing to replace? I am doing a 200k revamp on my hundy and i am debating between replacing the bushing or all of the rear control arms.

Are the lower metal tech links able to be installed with the zerk pointed up and still accessible?

You'll need a press. If your rig spent life in salt water even a big press might not get 'er done...been there done that.

But the OEM bushings are maintenance free for their life (150k miles for my uppers). Other types of joints not so much.

Hello, I have just saw your question.

First let me state that the current price both on eBay and our online store for this kit is $189.99 not including shipping and handling.

Second, SuperPro Bushings are considered to be the best polyurethane bushings in the 4x4 after market. More information about SuperPro you you can find in the following link:
www.superpro.com.au

Third, other memebers in this forum who have purchsed bushings from us stated that the bushings are performing better than the OEM or other poly bush they have used before.

Fourth, There is a mistake in the description though.
The kit includes the following:
SPF2464K x 1 - Panhard Rod Bushings 14mm bolt 2 Bushings,2 Inner Tubes
SPF2460K x 2 - Trailing Arm Lower Bushing 2 Bushings,2 Inner Tubes
SPF2461K x 2 - Trailing Arm Upper Bushing 2 Bushings,2 Inner Tubes

We hope that we have adressed all you concerns. Please feel free to contact us with any question.

Best regards,

OBT Sales Team.

Old, thread. Anything changed since then?
I see on slee website:

This is only for uppers. What about lower arms? I need to overhaul all rubber on a back.

Ideally I'd like Toyota bushings, is Slee offering for OE bushings from 80 series? Doesn't say anywhere.

I would like to keep it as original as possible. Maybe just get new arms and be done with it..

I used SPC for my rear lowers, and FEBEST for the uppers. FEBEST makes a upper arm with bushing already installed. Picked up both on Amazon. Zero regrets nearly two months later.

I might just go FEBEST all around, they have bushings for all pieces and yes, upper arms can be purchased ready.
Even if they going to last 1/2 of OE - works for me. Will be considerable savings. Like $150(FEBEST) vs $500 OE

Anybody had BAD experience with FEBEST?
