Wait! I’ve been drinking!
Put it all together and went to start and ‘eeech eeecch’ no start.
Turns out the pump did not really fit the conversion (hydramat) kit.
Sag he tank order/replace with the right pump fittings and was on my way to Paniment Days!

That was a a bit spacey for me.


The night time adventures were pretty silly! The PDays raffle..we did our best to be unruly!!!
Then followed this, what I’ll call fudge, and this fungus chocolate bar, all when I am plating the nights repast- spaghetti and sausage.

That rusted area is the amount that it can move. Which at the other end of the door!

Which makes it tough on my inner door components.

Just broke this guy out in Paniment. Fixed now, but the problem stil exists.

I think I sent these hinges to midgcanic back in the day. Anyone know if he is stil blessing us with that service?
 
Just two little bushings! I know Spector used to sell nylon versions. Maybe I have a set? But not as good as the metal ones. Bronze?

Think I’ll take it for a Cruz first and then root around in the drawers of Hope!

Out of town next week but may be able to help with new one when I get back. Got a few in stash I purchased.

I'm almost getting to the point of waiting on others on my '77 frame off so I'm starting to tackle small projects including these hinges. Long story short, I installed the bushings that @J Mack recommended and reused the pin on the spare hinge (shown above). I frankly couldn't be happier with the results. There is zero lateral movement in the hinge and although it's very tight to move by hand, the hinge moves very smoothly.

At the risk of embarrassing myself, given the fact that I have a fraction of the machinist skills or tools for that matter of most of you guys, I will attempt...

Looked at my stash of hinges and I amongst them I found two pins, a drill bit, but no brass colars. I must have been around for that Jmack beta but didn’t retain numbers. Maybe I’ll have it somewhere in my thread.
Im always thinking, ‘Well that’s fixed. I’ll never have to do that again.’ Learning that ‘again’ is real and ‘never’ is foolishness.

Toss that hinge and start over. Do you have a good drill press and drill press vise? If not you will have no chance to drill that out correctly. FWIW I was able to reuse all my pins. That made the job a little simpler.
