Seemed to be better today . I put more fuel in maybe that was it ? I really like that engine in this truck though . Still don't have an exhaust on it but I love the sound . Steering is tight and the brakes are now good . I had to swap out the gear set in the new diff for 3.73's I drove it yesterday with 4.10's and it wasn't quite right . It is out of a 70 series . Seems very similar in width to a 45 series full floater . Still have to deal with the e-brake cable but I think a 60 series one might work . Gonna try to mount the lever kinda under the bench near the tranny tunnel .

Awesome! Such a sweet build! Jealous of the 12ht for sure. Did the Vacuum t-case 2wd/4wd shift diaphragm fit in between the frame rails? I know its tight if not impossible on the 40 series frame rails, but hoping its close since I want to retain it on my FJ55 build with a split case.

Yes the vacuum shift pod fit's between the rails . Close but it does fit . I also used a piece of the stock down pipe and it fit as well . I guess I must have gotten it pretty close to where toyota would have put it ? More testing tomorrow . Hopefully get the new gear set in the front as well .

Been a while since I've done much to this truck . The owner has been driving it since I built it . He's had a few little issues with the 12ht but otherwise all is good . We wanted to make sure this truck would be something he could drive everyday and it turns out to be fitting the bill . We have decided to start on the next stage . We started building bumpers , we will be adding sliders as well . There are a few areas in the body where this truck needs a bit of attention . The plan is to get some body protection sorted out , then start on rust proofing/repair and paint . Here are a few shots of what I came up with for the front .

Got the bumper painted the other day . Then the Piggy came by so I decided to put it on sans winch or license bracket . Just zapped it on the middle for now . Have to put it somewhere else when the winch goes in .

Currently in a bit of a sad state . Tore it down for paint . The frame got painted with rust bullet as well as all of the other bits associated with the chassis itself . Then I put the drivetrain back in and it sat in my back shop for a few months. I was a little leery of the shop where the body is getting painted and I was correct about the fact that it would be a while before anything got done at that shop . I dropped it off as per the owners instructions and it has sat there since then . Almost a year now . I heard that the owner is having a bit of issues in his personal life so not sure how concerned he is about getting it finished . Time will tell . Here are a few of the teardown anyhow .

You may want to get your Piggy out of there before things get worse...

Not my piggy . I advised the owner not to take it there . I offered to do the work , but my price was too high I guess ? I am not a vendor on here nor am I soliciting work in any way (just to be clear) . People in my area seem to have a hard time spending the money to do things properly . I kinda washed my hands of it at this point . I hope he comes looking for the few items that got left in my shop . I'll update if/when he does . I would like to see it finished at some point .

I got the engine back in and quite a lot of other stuff done . I used an airbox from an hdj81 , it fit nicely on the pass side . I also used the booster from an 80 series as well . I ended up using a brake master from a 60 series . I used a booster on the clutch from a jdm 60 as well . We managed to get a lot of the column wiring tied into stock harness , so it now has intermitten wipers and headlights where they would be in a 60 . The only part we are having trouble with is the hazard switch which isn't too bad in the factory location , just the switch on the column doesn't work . I drove it today from one bay to the other under it's own power but no throttle cable or coolant in it yet . Tomorrow will do some more testing I think . Still have to get a power steering belt and a few other little things but it is getting close . The position ended up in a really good spot . There is good clearance everywhere . I am very happy where it ended up .
@too tall ...question on if you had an issue with the inlet on the 55 radiator sitting right in front of the power steering pulley? If so, how did you overcome this? I’m thinking I can take it to a radiator shop and have it removed and re-welded to the outside corner of the tank. I know it’s been a while but hopefully you have some recollection. Thanks. Jimmy
