The elders used a device called a plumb line. It used a weight suspended by a string to establish a perfectly vertical line (“plumb”).

It was a foundational tool in construction and surveying for ensuring walls, posts and structures were straight up-and down. It is still used today in developing regions.

You can make one with a length of string and nearly any weight sufficient to stretch the string.

Advantages of this ancient technology include: high precision (often surpassing lasers), simplicity, and low cost.

I clamped the housing to a level surface, cleaned a section of the center section mounting surface and noted that angle.

I then came up with a way to repeatably confirm the angle that I currently have.

Go through four batteries before giving up and grabbing the corded grinder.
Don't forget your safety glasses, because as they say you can't hear boobies and no reason to take the chance.
I remember a method that involved using a pipe cutter for changing caster angle, but when I look at those pictures, I can’t see how that would work.

FJ55 Toyota Bumper Silver 007.....

Or as I like to call it "a mixture of stuff I had" that matched the color the other shop used with a lighter flake in the metallic..
