First let me say, this won't be a regular Project Wrong Way Episode. There were six of us in total in the shop, and everyone was talking at once. So I apologize for the sound. What we captured in this episode is what makes the Landcruiser community so great. Some of the wisest cruiser heads on the west coast showed up to help me get my engine in. I am what I consider "small time" with this little show. But these guys used up a holiday weekend to come help me, a stranger. What we do have in common is a love of all things cruiser. Enjoy the episode, and if you're not a member of the TLCA check out www.TLCA.org and join up.

I am going to do this for the exterior paint, not touching it with a grinder at all. But the interior I was going to paint, for durability sake. You're cruiser looks perfect sir!

I have thought the same as mattcamp from the first episode.

Take that thing to a pro and have them do a triple cut n buff. You would be amazed at what it can do.

I did a triple cut and buff myself on my 78 mustard, and it came out great.
Here's a before and after...

I must say, I watched your Milwaukee grinder review and you made me cry when you ground through the original paint to metal on your rear tailgate. I think you should save your original paint, your 40 is actually in great survivor condition. Check out project patina thread on here, super cool way to save rigs. Those tailgates are actually pretty hard to find, especially with chains and all. Love your channel, sorry to complain! -Matt

I hear you, my plan is to clean the interior and paint, but leave the exterior alone. I’ll be lugging around little kids and other stuff and wanted to at least paint the interior to hold up to the intended abuse. But the outside, that’ll be a polish and then left alone.

Great episode!
what a crew... Looking forward to the next one...

I could not work in those conditions...

how could you guys do that much work and not have a single donut ... where’s the box of donuts?

Btw years ago there was so much more of that get together and BS/work aka work party ... times are a changing

Seen a guy in a red 40... wipped around and caught up to him ... he could care less I had a 40 as well :meh:

Glad to see the spirit of cruiser brotherhood has not died yet lol

It’s worth it to keep the garage build “gathering” mentality. And some one driving a 40 series without at least acknowledging another cruiser...? That’s a shame. Good friendships can be made over these beaters. Too bad for him.

Snipers in the works. That’s the next big piece.

Isn't that hanging on the wall in your garage? You know, the Red Ryder version? :hillbilly:

Mosley Motors has a nice kit, but the Red Ryder is for other “problems”, not fuel injection lol.

You sure Ben wasn't photo shopped into that pic? :flipoff2:

I guess it goes without sayn', a few "Thank you" were exchanged.
No Ben was definitely there.

Ok, I guess I will let it slide... this time. Just kidding, you're doing good, glad you guys got the engine in. It's a good feeling to have your drivetrain in place, and makes your rig feel like it's much more manageable. Keep pluggin' along BROTHER! That was my best Hulk Hogan in writing..... doesn't come across as well as yelling it out.......

So Rob stayed an extra day and took sometime to teach me a thing or two. We recorded all we could, and I was able to make six mini episodes. Getting closer each day.

With all the experienced help per the PWW Special episode, as well as the additional time from @landcrusher909, I think you have turned the corner and may have to rename it to "Project Right Way"? Great work, educational for sure!
