Looks pretty useful to me. How about a little canvas strap to hold it down against the plank for when you hit a bump?

Nice! I need to do that as well. My passenger side window keeps coming down by itself while I'm driving. I've tried bending the tab, but it seems like it springs back to its normal shape.

Still an awesome thread!

so i got the header in and heat valve...

I was going good with the whole process...ready to put the header in ... and it droped down out of my hand when i was repossitioning and wacked the oil sender...i had the sender out earlyer to clean it up

the sender had the male end bend over a bit...not that big a deal...proceeded with the assembly...all looked good all torqued up.

proceeded to start it up....and out pumped a whole quart of oil...turned out there was a blank hole just above the oil sender threaded hole :hhmm: never quite seen that there before

in the process of pulling it out the senders threads were stripped

had to find a bolt to fit in the oil sender hole and then clean up the oil on the driveway.

went to have midas or meineke make up a new front pipe to link the muffler to the header...since everybody says...just bring it to a muffler shop...they do it quick...they were both buissy into the next week :hhmm:

so i went to Mavis...a bit further away...but...its only a one way trip with the open header.

I had explaned what i needed on the phone...and then again when i got there...proceeded to wait 1 1/2 hrs to have their guy stall the truck a few times...had to have another guy drive it in...put it on the lift....sooooo....i walked over and explained to the guy what i needed to hear him say "we don't have a pipe bender"

"don't you guys do exhaust work?" ....we do ... all out pipes are prebent to fit specific cars :frown:

drive back home and did it myself :meh:

It always works better that way for me...well...except for that whole oil sender thing :D

bad pics...but...they are pics none the less

thanks...kinda tryed for a retro look...past job was in graphic arts photo retouching

if you want a copy...pm me your email :)

or something different :)

That's very cool!! Is this a sticker or laminate of some kind? You're going to put it on a first aid kit for your rig, I presume? Do you do any type of screen printing? I need a metallic label with the shift pattern for my twin-sticks transfer case. Just thought I'd throw that out there randomly... nice work!

Seems like it should be on the tool box in my truck- first aid for my Toyota- Very fun stuff.

Exellent Work JohnnyC. Thanks for posting.

Ps many /many years ago we (I) had to build a bridge out of pins and drinking straw. For a grade 7 project.

I'm kind of late to the party here but all the same, this was an awesome build. Very inspirational. Gave me lots of great ideas. Thanks.

Very nice job especially in a 10 day time frame.
