I bought my surf fishing gear this weekend. Let's hope we're all eating bluefish on the trip.

Does anybody else fish, or is it just gonna be me?

I can hand you beers and watch you fish.

I'm going to .

I'm going to .
Bass Pro Shops can set you up with Rod/Reel/Line for about $60, if I'm not mistaken. Entry level stuff that won't suck and is brand new compared to pawn shop questionables. Make sure you get a 2-piece rod or it's gonna have to ride on the roof. And, remember that saltwater stuff is different than freshwater stuff if you're pawnshopping it. I'll have plant of terminal tackle so don't buy hooks, weights, etc.

Will do .

Bluefish? you can eat that John while I catch Drum and Founder.... I will throw the skates and sharks at Johnny
Yeah, not the best eating fish out there but it can be done if prepped right. You catch 'em, I'll cook 'em. And we'll cook up a skate or two if we get them.

I just got back from the Black Balsam trip with Upstate Cruisers. On this trip everyone was on their own for meals; no group dinners. Not having to coordinate the type of meal, who will bring what and for how many made the trip very simple. All we had to do was get out there. Since I'm all about simplicity (i.e. I'm lazy and because of the undetermined nature of the weather for outdoor cooking) I figured we could do the same for this trip. The only exception is maybe a group fish dinner if we catch enough. How does that sound to everyone?

We can do that, but I admit, I was looking forward to coordinating some good food with your dear husband… Still, I'm all for whatever is easiest for everyone. And yeah, who knows what the weather will be like.

I was out there last veterans day end the weather was amazing! It is North Carolina if ya don't like the weather wait 5 mins.

I'm going to try like hell to make this trip. Sitting on the beach with a beer, cigar, fishing pole and enjoying some John V time sounds relaxing.

I'm debating whether or not to take my F250. It's a 4x4 but has road tires on it. thoughts?

I think it would be fun to grill out and cook together. If I bring my truck I can bring a grill with me.

Either works for me! We could just do it pot-luck style, such that if needed each person's contribution could be had as a standalone meal if need be.

I will have my camping stove and whatnot with me. Going to try to get my stupid fridge fixed.

The way we have been doing hurricane creek trips works very well .

The way we have been doing hurricane creek trips works very well .

For those who haven't been able to make one of those trips, what way would that be?

Main meals are group ,each person signs up to bring certain items .

Are there any slots left for this trip? I have Dozer running now and should be good to go by then (fingers crossed).

Went back through the thread. Eric Forrest said he had cabin 20. Jeremy Barrows said he had Cabin 17. Is there room in either / both of those cabins?

Now that Ramon is kicking around going, we found that cabin 5 is the only one that's still available. Is there room for one or two more in the cabins already there or should we get one ourselves?
