In case you want to grab a bite at the ferry before heading over to PI there is small restaurant on site. Here is their menu from May of this year and the view from the back deck.

Went back through the thread. Eric Forrest said he had cabin 20. Jeremy Barrows said he had Cabin 17. Is there room in either / both of those cabins?

If my wife cancels, I'll have 5 extra beds that anyone is welcome to... If not, we'll likely have our 4 dogs with us, and won't be able to share the cabin.

@psbarger and his wife also have a cabin that they may be willing to split?

I cannot edit my original post so here is some new/updated info...

3) If we visit the village, established in 1753, there is a half mile drive through 12" deep water/marsh. I think it sounds exciting but the local I talked to says it weirds a lot of people out.

Per the National Park Service website: "Exhibits on "lightering", community life, and survival in this village can be seen in the Theodore and Annie Salter House and Visitor Center, the School, the Post Office and General Store, and the Life-Saving Station." These are historic buildings and not actually in operation.

The drive to "town" through the marsh is no big deal as long as you stay between the sign posts... it's worth the drive up the beach alone -- and the town is cool.

you should be fine... We drove those at Pismo all the time hauling quads and rarely had to pull strap. The sand at Pismo is quite a bit deeper than what I've seen at obx but I've never been to Portsmouth before

Marie and I are so looking forward to this trip. Haven't been to the Outer Banks in 15 years and never to Portsmouth Island. We won't be bringing the 40 but our Tacoma with a quad should suffice for 4-wheeling the island. I was given some advice from a friend that went to PI in November that I hope ends up not being true. He said the skeeters were pretty bad and he recommended bringing "bee keeper" netting for your face. :(

I'm probably out :( Found an "new" drivetrain issue that is going to take some time and $ to correct, so I don't want to push it. I'm going to have Dozer at the Christmas party - come hell or high water.

I just called Morris Marina to check on the availability of the ferry for Thu and Fri. There are very, very few spots open.

The lady at the Marina said to find out how many trucks will be going over on Thu and how many on Fri. She also needs to know and at what time everyone will meet there because she will arrange a ferry for when we are all there.

Essentially they are making a special trip for us. For example, if there are five trucks going over on Thu and they can all meet at "X" time then I'll let her know and she will give us a time that the ferry will be there closest to "X".

Please let me know immediately what day you will be going and your earliest time of arrival so I can coordinate the ferry times. After the times are set I'll post it on the first post by the attendees names. I'll also send an email with contact info for all attendees like we did for Hurricane Creek.

The Shandor clan will arrive at the marina on Friday at noon. We'd like to catch the 1PM ferry ride if possible. Any word on the Sunday pickup ferry time? Marie is going to a concert with a girlfriend on Sunday night. 9AM would be great if anyone else needs to get home fairly early.
