we are leaving Sunday from Mobile, AL headed to OKC to pick up the Bama Beast from Cruiser Corps. Had A/C and PS added so we will be eating with different campsites each day as we will be broke after sending one of Mike's kids to college....we will also be bumming gas money. We will leave OKC on Monday and hopefully arrive at Demotte Monday night, so somebody save us some supper because we will not have eaten since Mobile. I am looking forward to meeting you guys!

gov web site shows all are still booked , if you have a site you will not be using pm me the confirmation number . and i will assign it to somone in need , and send you your money back .

Evan, thanks for managing these extra sites! I sent you my info for Site 017.

Yellowstone is definitely on my bucket list. Our family stopped and visited there in 1963 when we moved from Winnipeg to Santa Barbara and I want to revisit.

Not sure about any off-road site seeing and as mentioned above, literally, 1 million people will be competing for space.

Earlier in this thread Kurt offered his participation in Utah. There are an incredible amount of trails there and a lot less people competing for a quiet hide-away. That though caught my attention.

Colorado wildfires gonna affect our plans?
I keep checking on the Forest Service websites to check for Stage III fire restrictions (forest closure) in the Kaibab National Forest north of the Grand Canyon. Some National Forest areas around Flagstaff and Williams to the south of Grand Canyon are already closed. Same thing in New Mexico. They closed parts of the National Forest around Albuquerque earlier this week and the Santa Fe National Forest has been closed for almost two weeks now.

Excited to follow everyone's plans for this year. Wish I could make it, but work is too busy. By next year my Pig should be as road trip worthy as possible and I will block off some time to be there!

This morning's news said they are closing Nat'l Forests in SW Colo and southern Utah....Northern Arizona would be next

No camp fires or any open flame that can't be shut off, no BBQ, etc. Liquid pet. only ( propane, white gas, etc.) for cooking.

I believe that applies to the original plan –A at DEMOTTE, AZ camp grounds.

If new plan –A is to meet @fj55-100 camp grounds then the camp fire ban could very well be lifted if we agree to share cold beer with other campers.

Correct. Kurt @cruiseroutfit does a lot of expedition wheeling in Utah, and is a super nice guy to boot. I have it on my list to visit with him about hooking up next year for PP '19. Then we could fit in the museum visit as well.

That could be a lot of fun!
