**ORIGINAL POST BELOW**

Do people want to do this again?

This year we had a pretty darn good turn out: Pig Party - 2017?

We met at a very scenic venue - Telluride and Silverton were the closest major towns. We met on the 21st of June (Solstice) to steer clear of Father's Day, 4th of July, and other Land Cruiser events in July.

So I will just pose the question - is there interest in a Pig Party in 2018?

JUNE....and I believe there is plenty of interest to continue the party. One big question, do we move it around the country or stay put. There aren't many BobM and Remys that could drive across the country, but wondering how much interest on the east coast or Midwest. Personally we (Jeri and I) don't care where it is, we're coming! period.

We have a year, let's get started.

I originally was going to ask for it to be spring or fall so I don't die in Arizona. However, I am about to give the Doomer a comfort make-over so maybe I don't care. Let's pick a spot though I thought area we were in was awesome.

Ha! Not sure where I got August...

I hope there is a next Pig party, so I can participate, Maybe the guys who travel the farthest on the previous party should get to Pick the next location? what do you say Bobm?
And by the way Happy 4th of July everyone!

I would love to hit another PP.

From Ojai to Acadia National Park round trip is 6,653 miles round trip. 100 hours of seat time at 65 mph, 576 hours by bycicle and 2,104 hours by foot.

That's gona take some ponderin.

now that's an adventure! Gunna need Scrapdaddys shower the day we get there!!! OK. it's always nice to have a goal...even if it isn't always the most realistic

I think all that attended the pig fest had a great time. I know that we did, we're still showing pics and telling stories. So in planning for the 2018 party I can't help but consider the fact that first and foremost we are still part of the larger Land Cruiser family. Also many of us have time and financial limitations that don't allow for several cruiser runs per year. So I humbly suggest that we crash one of the TLCA events in mass at least every other year. We can block off a section and call it the pig pen . We'll bring the bacon

I commend Bob and Remy on their trip, but man going to Maine from San Diego would be a trek. I'd need to change my oil when I got there and estimate $900 in gas each way.

In every other vehicle I have always shaved the time that Google Maps says but that is not the case in the pig. 48 hours of pure wheel spinin' and fuel burning says Google. I can expect more than 10% more time in the pig.

lets talk logos. do we come up with new logos, or reuse the pig logo from the stickers this year? i like this years pig stickers. do we have a subtitle? if we attack another event, would it be "pig party 2018-the swine take on the coal mine cruiser classic"? or pigs on the rocks?

We need somebody with a big brain to come up with an area that is scenic, great for wheeling, and relatively an equal distance for everyone to travel to.
FYI, I don't have a big brain.:frown:

Let's see (says the guy who only drove 2.5 hrs to get to Rico) who lives in the middle of the country. Scrapdaddy? Voodoocruisers?
Perhaps Ron and Andre could suggest some spots around them that would be more central. Per Andre's suggestion, we could try crashing Cruise Moab but that event sells out and registration, especially choosing runs, gets competitive. Meeting at a TLCA event also implies adding entry fees and formalities to the cost. Not necessarily a bad thing. Just a fact of life.

Well graphically Kansas would the mid point for all comers. Not to offend, but the only state less fun than Kansas is a vegetative state.

You got mountains on the west and on the east and a chess board to join em. Do the Dakotas have anything fun?

Nebraska...the only state that makes you happy to get to Iowa. Home state of my father-in-law, who claimed it had more towns and less people than any other state. Somewhere (around Kearney I think) we'd see a sign for the Theodore Roosevelt Forest but we never took time to go see the tree.
