I gotcha....any other recommended forums I should try?
Just giving you a hard time. Nobody knows the 80 series like the MUD crowd. It's just that very few have gone the route you're looking to go. But as I mentioned 35" or less and 12" wide or less is going to be about your best bet.

The people here all talk a big game, and are just giving you a hard time. It is a very friendly forum.

I would stick to 20" wheels and up to a 33" tire. If you aren't looking to go offroad, I would stick to a street tire, if you want to do a little exploring look for an all terrain.

If you want suggestions for specific wheels and tires let me know and I will put something together.

I gotcha....any other recommended forums I should try?

you are on the right forum. Take the well known size of 285/75R16 for a stock suspension and work out the biggest rim you can fit in those dimensions.
Tire Size Comparison
285/55R20 or 285/45R22 is a good fit size wise. You will have good street power and braking as the size is not beyond oem by much.
If you wish to go huge like 26 then that is out of my league and knowledge.

Mr. T just cried a tear in his sake...

I would say 18 is the biggest. Unless you do some ridiculous turbo setup like @scottryana then you can do whatever you want without mockery. :grinpimp:

Bs, mockery is always allowed:slap:

Numbers!! Thank you for the numbers!! I'm not trying to go ghetto, the proportion of the huge rubber bubbly tires and 17" wheels just aren't my thing. And every pic I see that I like isn't connected to a legit website so I can't get the specs. Here is an example of some I like the look of.

We are just giving you a hard time, although if you are used to larger wheels maybe the smaller 16/17" wheels are now a way to "stand out" from the crowd. For something different (from your area, not necessarily the forum) but cool I'd go with the 17" steel wheels painted grey (with 285/70/17 tires). That look feels very surf shop esque to me. Plus if you get bored with the color its easy to change.

Ok so lets get/give a little more info.

The Land Cruiser uses a 6 bolt 5.5" pattern. With a center bore of 106 or 108mm. The center bore will probably be the toughest part to match. The other tough thing will be that most wheels hub cover will not fit with the Land Cruiser hub sticking out.

Going off of the wheels you said you liked here are a couple that would fit. There any MANY more, but I left out the really really blingy ones. These are all available in a 20" size.

Love the 2nd and 3rd! I plugged #'s into the tire comparison until I found something close that was a real #.

Anyone know if the bolt pattern is the same as a 90's model Chevy Z71? it's a 6 lug.... thinking about pulling my neighbors truck over and seeing if the 33" will clear.

I was just giving you a hard time. You do you. What you like is what you like.

I've seen 20s on 80s and have yet to see one that looks "right". But I'm a purest so I don't anything more than a 16 or 17.

@scottryana would any of the new Sequoia or Tundra wheels fit? Don't they make a 19 or 20 for them?

285/75R16 is well documented as the biggest tire that will fit stock suspension without any risk of rubbing. It looks like 275/60R20 would be a perfect fit if such a size exists from tire vendors.

Yes many Chevys are 6x5.5 (which is the same as 6x139.7) - I bought a set of wheels off of CL with tires on them that had been on a '78 K10 pickup, and they bolted right up. As mentioned the center hub bore (where the axle goes through the middle of the wheel) needs to be at least 106mm; many wheels that are 6x5.5 will have much smaller hub bore diameters and thusly won't bolt up.

With that said I'm sure you can find something! I have had many SUVs with 20", 21", and even 22" wheels and they can still ride decently in conjunction with good/great tires. Don't go cheap on the tires!

My husband seems to think 20's won't look right without a lift. I'm not against lifting it, was just looking to get instant gratification giving her new shoes that don't look like these in my mind....
