Rubbers?

I want to know why Greg's rubbers last longer than everyone else's? Sorry Greg I couldn't resist. :)

I think that stopper may be for when there is no tire on the carrier and you swing it full open, the stopper will hit the tub instead of the tire carrier. Just guessing.
That is 100% correct. I just observed this the other day while installing a refurbed tire rack. Glad the bumper was in place, or I'd be respraying the side of the tub.

Remembered to snap a pic of the tire rack bumper in action.

It will be registered as a 1978. Being built from ground up for a customer.
Edit: I forgot, It has been registered as a 1978. The license plates and registration are in the center console. Just waiting on paint for a few more parts and then it can be driven.

This truck has been years in the making. Cleaned & POR-ed frame w/ new rear gussets & diagonals, minitruck PS, Fresh 2F, carb, dissy, new suspension, 4WDB, AL body, good steel doors & sides from arizona, family cage added to OEM main hoop, IC alternator....

so are there a total of 4 of the front door corner seals on 1978 hardtop?
65888-90302
65889-90302
65898-90301
65899-90301

And what is the PN for the rubber channel that goes on the amby door hinge as a door stopper? I only have one of those and it's old & primered.

Edit: Is the updated back door hinge stopper the 68959-90301? I looked at the pic and thought that was the hood/driprail pad.

Thanks for any info!

What part is that? I have a small spot in the upper rear corner of my driver's door that I see light through. Is that the solution?

Yep. That's where it goes.

It may not be the complete solution (depending on the quality of fit of your door) but it will certainly reduce the issue.

Thanks, I'll start checking OEM availability right away!

rare part I don't have but would like to have: the rubber cover for the wiper stop switch of upper windshield wipers

Haven't seen one in years. IIRC, it was made of white plastic that turned yellow and crumbled to dust with age.

Just the plastic cover is:
85019 COVER, WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AUTO STOP SWITCH
85146‑60070 1 $3.36

The absurdly low price makes me think it's been long discontinued and that is a very old price.

It could also be gotten as part of the park switch assembly:
85018 SWITCH SUB-ASSY, WINDSHIELD WIPER AUTO STOP
85013‑60070 1 $9.29

Same deal, low price is an artifact of an old price list.

Guess no more, you are correct on the spare tire bumpers function. Qupie doll winner

After looking at these rubber pieces I discovered that my original picture does not show them correct position here's how they're supposed to be installed

Any idea what years these used. I don't believe the earlier years had them. Somewhere around late seventies the header piece aboce the front doors changed. The front part nobe came down and covered part of the windshield. I assume the weather stripping covered the larger piece. Was there another piece of weather stripping that went between the header and windshield?

jadcruiser makes em.

Curious is he making these in white or black? My 68 still has 95% of the piece still and it's black.

Here is another piece that seems to go MIA. is the gromits that hold the bezel off the bib. I know people use many things for this but for me it was just as easy using the OEM part. Second picture shows how flat the ones go on my 68 compared to new.
