it sounds like it runs and dies. sound right for a couple seconds.

do you have noid light to check for pulse at the injectors?
typically if there is spark, there should be pulse.

i did a job on a 3.4 once that had a similar symptom. i think it would eventually code though. turned out to be a bad coil pack. weird but i assume the ecu was shutting down fuel because of the massive misfire potential.

is computer still controlling this relay or no?
why go away from the COR?

you do have a ST signal going to ecu as well?
Pump is wired through the COR. Due to old wires I ran another relay and new wire to fire the pump.

Ugh. We ohm'd the crankshaft sensor wires to the ECU. Good.

We unplugged the crankshaft sensor. Engine will not light. Plug it back in, and it does, then stalls.

Different injectors made no difference.

Is there a low oil pressure fuel cut? Maybe?

I'm swinging wild here. Is it possible to run a hot wire the pump to see if the engine continues to run? Or have you already done that?

I had the same thought. I'm running an Autometer oil pressure gauge/sender in the stock location. Looking at the EWD it only goes to the dash, and not the ECU.

When we start the engine, it has pressure in the fuel rail. The engine starts, then stalls, and the pump continues to run. We tried three different regulators (used), and I find it hard to believe all three were bad. I'm going to place an order with your former shop and get a new OEM. It bypasses a ton of fuel.

What about a faulty fuel filter? I only ask since it starts fine but then seems to lose pressure. Have you taken fuel pressure readings? How much fuel is in the tank?

The fella helping me doesn't have fittings to test Toyota fuel pressure. Tank is full. Filter is new (Wix). There is a ton of fuel passing through the regulator back to the tank. We tried three, used, regulators that didn't solve the problem. I find it hard to believe they were all bad, but I ordered a new one from Toyota.

Do you have a service manual for the donor vehicle?

Don't know if this is relevant. This was a MAF.

Dang, that is exactly the problem. Gotta keep reading.

OK, his solution was the MAF. That was the first thing we tried.

I bought one at NAPA. I just ordered one from AmToy. The description in that fellas post is exactly what is happening to mine.
