That's good porn right there, if I do say so myself

Dude, its so simple. Hurry tf up. :flipoff2:
Ya, but I can't do it in the driveway. So until half the garage is open the transplant will need to wait.

Nothing to see here.

Real nice. Should have quite a bit more pep than the 22re! How much boost you gonna run? Forged or hyperubrokeit pistons?

That style blower generates fair amount of heat. Not sure how much compared to a turbo... but more heat than a centrifugal blower.

This is the low boost kit which runs about 4.5psi boost. No idea what the engine builder put in the engine for pistons.

What kind of power do you expect... I mean, other than "more... lots more"?

Realistically, I don't know. LCE says an increase of 20%, which would be 180hp, but then show in a chart 195-202hp. Either way, it's better than the 112hp on the factory 22RE. Robbie did balance the engine when he rebuilt it, so I would hope it's in the 195hp range.

3rz stock is rated at 150. Theoretically speaking boosting a motor 14.7 lbs should double its output. 4.5lbs should give a 30% increase. Which lands the motor at 195hp. I didnt realize LCE had their kit marketed at 195 at the time I did that math, lol.

The nice thing about a roots blower is its torque production and spooling characteristics. I think it'll be a solid little powerplant.

The balanced motor will be nice. A balanced 22re is night and day to a factory motor. Can hardly even tell its running....at 4500 rpm. Balance will really make a motor have a smooth as glass feeling and worth the additional cost for every engine rebuild.

I'm just happy that Pappy and I will be able to travel together on the hwy :bounce:. He'll STILL get 20+mpg while I barely hover around 10+mpg but we'll be doing 80 MPH 👍

Pappy looks amazing!
I saw your post on a first gen 4runner facebook page about a trip to Alaska. Looked awesome!
Guessing that was the last big trip before the new engine install?

Curious how this thing feels compared to the 22re, probably night and day!

One thing I would ask is did you have the fuel injectors rebuilt and leak tested?
When we rebuilt the 22re for my 87 4runner, we installed "rebuilt" injectors that did not come with any paperwork. Unfortunately one or more leaked on break in and the engine ran rich causing the rings not to fully seat. I learned a lesson and would hate to see that happen to someone, especially when this engine was years in the making!

Injectors were done by RC Engineering and came with documentation. I also posted here with a few Yukon pictures, along with a link to the rest of the pics over the clubhouse.

I don't think the places that "clean" the injectors have the capability to actually rebuild them. anyway, I gotta get myself one of those superchargers. looks awesome.

I believe nearly all gas fuel injectors are sealed. "Rebuild" means new seals and filter.

So an injector service just checks to see if the spray pattern is acceptably atomized and the pintle isnt hammered out or leaking down?

Would running a bottle of tko2000 through the tank be just as effficient as their cleaning process?

In any event I guess I would like to know the injector is cleaned and cycles and sprays properly and doesnt leak down if putting it on a brand new cylinder.
