Dan I highly doubt I will beat you to the road. What's holding you up? Still waiting on those precups? My build seems to be going at light speed compared to this time last year when I was deep into body work. Now it's all clean parts and I can see the finish line getting closer. My hope is to be on the road by August.

Yep. Precups arrive, then a day or two at the machine shop, followed by a day to put it back together. That's the plan at least.

....so you're planning to have it ready for the 40s only run then?? ;).

40's only run? When and where is that? I guess I will have to scratch it sometime :)

The day after the Rising Sun Rally. We took the 40 last year, no scratches. It's generally a mild enough trail for a completely stock ball and claw 40 to make it. Good times!

Engine installed! The last picture is of the aft drivers side engine mount. Somehow I managed to miss this when I did all my sandblasting and painting. So I had to take a break and clean and paint before I can be totally done with the engine install. New mounts took a bit to figure out since they were the new mount style instead of the old. Came out great. Clutch tomorrow along with tranny and transfer case cleanup . Then rebuild the parking brake . We'll see how far I get .

Crank shaft pulley installed. It called for over 250 foot lbs of torque! So I tightened it as much as possible and staked the nut. Once it's in the vehicle I will try a little body weight with the breaker bar to make sure it's as snug as possible .

Looks great!

I show that torque is 144 foot lbs on Crank Shaft Pulley, per FSM. :meh:

How did you torque it without everything moving? I suppose it takes 2 people...

Sweet thanks for posting that. I thought that number seemed a bit high. I got my value from the FAQ torque guide.

Beer me.

Max Ellery’s Land Cruiser Repair Manual 1969-1990 (FJ & RJ)
This manual is the most difficult to find specs in as they are not listed anywhere but in the procedures themselves which is great for using the manual step by step but it provides more torque specs then any other I have seen.
