That sounds like a frickin riot, lol. I kinda want to sign up now.
They do it at Hickory speedway I know, and Anderson. And several places in Florida including the Freedom Factory, this upcoming weekend actually.

My buddies and I have been talking about dragging a few cars down to Florida for the race at the freedom factory next October.

That looks so fun!
It was really fun for 34s lol, then the rest of the night was still fun as a spectator, but I walked too much on my sprained ankle and by the end of the night I had to crawl around my house, so not as much fun lol

Always fun down at Frisco. Started shooting 35mm film, I've got a lot to learn but it's kinda fun to shoot trips with a camera that's as old as the Cruiser.

I have an old Pentax that my parents used starting at least in the late 60's (if not 1960). My dad even had it in Vietnam on at least one tour. I have no burning desire to be a shutterbug but I'd like to at least learn enough to take at least one decent pic with it one day. I even have a tripod in the OEM box...price tag is $3.40!

If you ever need help getting it set and shooting film, Southeastern Camera here in Raleigh knows film stuff pretty well. They've helped me out a lot and they develop film on site here.

There's an indie camera place near me that refuses to go away! That'll be my first stop. I'm pretty sure the community college made the switch to DSLR a number of years ago. My wife took a class there about 15 years ago and used film but they wouldn't allow film when she tried to take it again 5-6 years ago. Of course, by the time I get around to doing something, at least least one of these two places will probably be gone.

Man… nostalgia!!

My favorite memory of them all was Brian sliding down that muddy hill in the pouring rain with all 4 locked up, not an oh s*** handle not in use. all the way down through 2 turns into the upper playground at Harlan.

The Jamaican Bobsled run!

Harlan in the rain is an experience and then some. Went once in Feb. Snow and ice on the shady side of the hills, muddy on the sunny side. That was a grand time for sure.

I'll never understand why engineers hate mechanics and DIY's. We've been slowly figuering out a new vehicle for Andrea and researching a lot of models she likes. The timing chain at the rear of the engine (in a lot of the ones she has come up with) is as mind boggling to me as it was when it first came out, even more so when they put crap guides back there that are constantly wearing out. I understand the reasoning and space saving of it going back there but if you are going to put a critical engine compenent in a place that mandates the engine out to fix you should use more robust components for it.

Has anyone done v-belts on an FJ62? I ordered the belts and a billet tensioner pulley from Cruiser Matt earlier this year but I haven’t put them on yet.

I’m trying to wrap my head around the job with forum posts but I don’t have a sense for finalizing the tension.
