Well I made it back from Moab on Saturday about midnight, did the drive back in 2 1,000mi days. It was pretty smooth sailing besides assorted trailer tire issues. The Amazon trailer TPMS I got worked great. Saved a couple fires with it after 2 unrelated valve stem failures.

All in all the 80 made it out better than she could've for a whole week of wheeling.

Did Top of the World via Rose Garden Hill Sunday.
Arches NP and then wheeled out of Arches on some easy trails and Moab Rim Monday.
Tuesday we did Hell's revenge
Wednesday Pritchett Canyon
Thursday Poison Spider and Golden Spike

Pritchett was by far the nastiest thing we did, had to winch a few times, ripped my exhaust off, cracked my rear bumper, baby door dent, and the end of Pritchett where it basically turns into a dirt road I'm pretty sure I twisted the splines on my sector shaft and broke a birf on a tiny little ledge I was being dumb on.

Didn't realize the birf was broken until early in Posion spider. When only one front wheel was turning while locked. But I had a spare packed with grease and got it swapped out in the dirt in like 45min. Plan to take it back apart and actually Pull the knuckle and make sure I got all debris out. The cage exploded. Star and bell didn't appear cracked. They are ruined, but not what failed.

Moab rim was definitely the sketchiest thing we did, went up it with no winching, but man the consequences are high if you roll in places. And I had some real hairy drops with lots of tires in the air.

Congrats Anderson!!! Lucky lady for sure.

Thanks y'all! She's a trooper, barely spent any time together the past few months getting ready for Moab.

But I've been told I need to prioritize moving a fridgerator to the kitchen now. Something about it being inconvenient to walk to the garage when cooking lol

lol and so it begins! Good luck with the rest of that honey-do list that she hasn’t told you about yet. It’s somehow endless.

Great pics, Anderson...and congratulations on your engagement!

Congrats!!!!

I might have an axle hoarding problem....

Not pictured is a set of 99-04 F-250 axles, a pair of 80 axles in a rolling chassis in the backyard, and an FJ40 front axle

Definitely going to build an axle rack this winter

What are those wontons for?
My 3.4 5spd swapped 1st gen 4Runner.

I actually got them before knowing what I'd put them in. Got them for free.99

I also didn't realize the front was a D50, as cheap as I can get a junkyard D60 I'll probably grab a different one. Might even go big and do 05+ and link it. Been debating how I want to build it.

The Sterling 10.5 FF disc brake rear will be good though.

I'm content with where the 80 is right now, might shoehorn my 37s under it and do a 105 sector shaft, then leave it be. Wheel it as it is while I build the 4Runner. I want to have something I can truly beat, I like the 40 and 80 too much to fully raisin them. This 4Runner I got pretty cheap, have no sentimental attachment to, and while rust free, is 3 different colors and not nice at all, so perfect candidate to build. Already have a really nice internal cage for it.

Plan to do 40s/42s, wontons, 1550 shafts if I do 05+ D60. Some sort lockers, Probably a northwest fab Exo-Crawler chain drive case doubler. Or do an AW4 with a 231 mated using an A340 bellhousing to be weird. And instead of doubler just have torque converter. And best the snot out of it. The 3.4 should have enough power to not be a pig, but not enough to break decent axles.

lol looks like my garage

I have a super 60 and rear 10.5, 80 sereies axles, a Defender 90 rear, two GenV V8's a 6bt block, a cracked OM606, a 8l80E trans a few GM t-cases, A IAG 750 closed deck and forged subaru bottom end, cosworth subaru heads, quite a few things i'm forgetting and a partridge in a pear tree.

Congrats @40LandCruising !! - - you are doing it right my friend. Ya gotta keep the garage full of auto parts / stuff - if not your Wife will fill it up with seasonal decorations and crap and you will have less room for auto stuff - sounds mean, but it just happens earnestly over time. :)

edit: hopefully she doesn't come on here
