Once you go 100 Series you forget all about the rough ride of the 3rd Gen! :) !!
And every other 4x4 truck. Haven't been in a 2 hundy.

I wonder what this person has been ingesting. I've not seen a 1st gen sealed back Ute 4runner before. And the light bar has to add 100hp and 1000 to the value

That is the roughest 20K mile vehicle in america? : )

Let me know if anyone needs me to check it out . . Liberty is about 30 mins away - maybe 15 for @AJR LOL

Oh I know. Jolene is super comfy, even more since I fixed the globes. She’s faster, fits more cargo and is all around great, but not all automotive romances are based on such sensible things. If they were, none of us would drive 40s and every series I/II Rover would long ago have been trashed.

Maybe i dont need a hunerd then.... but 60k miles later i conceed to the 45 ride not being so hot lol.

I was in need of a third member geared 4.10 or 4.11 and Rafael @Roxx had what I needed. Problem was, the diff Rafael had was attached to an axle and the axle was attached to a frame and the frame was strapped to a trailer and the trailer was in Concord at his father-in-law's shop. Road Trip! Nathan and I went up and pulled the axle and loaded it onto my truck but we had no idea the surprise we had in store for us there in Concord.

Most of you probably don't know this, but Rafael's FIL is somewhat of a legend in the racing / hot rod world. His name is Dennis Frings. He once held the record of world's fastest car in the category he ran. He built cars for Rusty Wallace, Alan Kulwicki and Darrel Waltrip. He was an innovator in the NASCAR heyday and churned out many winning cars. He retired years ago and now builds whatever he wants. He is the go-to guy for vintage Halibrand Quik-Change rear ends. He is into the real legit vintage stuff. For instance, there are no LS swapped cars in his shop. His cars have flat heads, Ford 312's, Cadillac 365's and Studebaker engines. All are hopped up '50's style with vintage go fast parts and most of them have multiple carb setups (strombergs mostly). He has an amazing collection of cars. Nathan and I really enjoyed meeting Mr. Frings and looking at all the cool stuff he builds.

Reminds me of a bunch of speed shops in the valley back home. My friends FIL owned a shop that looked very similar until he retired.

That's a pretty well kept secret though @Roxx. I had no idea about this.

And that's why, kids, you don't do drugs!

You sure you talking about a vehicle? :p Actually, I was very impressed how Jolene, a stock 470, performed in the Vermont Overland trails. Driving them in reverse. Pitch black night. Blazing a trail. And it kept on going where much more modified trucks (4runners) would get stuck and need a few attempts at obstacles. I love my 80, but anytime someone tells me they can't find a good 80, and asks me about the hundy, I have to say without hesitation I would get one. And I would.

He is very talented, only thing i can say he got it from me 😁😁

Jajajaja (Roxx'll get it)!!! Parts Peddler of the Year!

Does Nathan think that obsessions with vehicle collecting is a normal kind of thing that everybody does?
Nathan absolutely does think that. My plan is to hook him on cars so that he is too broke to get into other more nefarious hobbies. I want to thank each and every one of you for doing your part to perpetuate this illusion of collecting vehicles being a normal thing. Let’s raise him up right. It takes a village, right? Y’all are doing great. Keep it up!
