I think @c2dfj45 put Dobinson’s IMS on his troopy. Root around in his “a simple troopy build” thread.

If I didn’t already have the adjustable shocks, and they were not already “tuned”, I doubt I would go that route. Too much finicky adjustment, on what “feels” right or doesn’t. I’m very happy it was already done because it is a great setup, but it’s not something I would necessarily spend time and money on for how I use my truck.

Well that is great to hear. Your team is actually putting together a quote for me time now for the OME parts!

How do you like your OME/Dobinsons setup?

Love it. I'll have it at Cruise Moab in a few weeks bumping along trails but this Cruiser (BJ74) gets use a lot. The IMS are newer additions as I bumped tires, which forced taller suspension which necessitated slightly longer shocks and the ~15mm longer shocks are perfect with our 25mm extended shackles.

Made my first recovery today with the troopy. My buddy in a Rubicon Gladiator on 37's couldn't get the job done unfortunately.

The young Marine stuck did not learn anything from his getting stuck, and was only interested in bragging about how fast he goes offroad because of his icon phase 3 lift.

125 feet of synthetic rope on the 8274 did the trick!

Very avoidable. Going way too fast and probably not paying enough attention.

He said he slid into the ruts, but I think he probably went into them intentionally thinking he could blast through it.

Starting the process of a double din head unit install. Will post in more details when I confirm it works 🤣

I also found that damn "speed buzzer" when I go over 100kph

I didn't have a speed buzzer in mine, but I repurposed one from a 24v JDM truck and wired it up as "hey idiot, you left your lights on" buzzer. I like driving with my lights on in the day time, but for some reason I wasn't always remembering to turn them off. Now I have to be really dense to leave them on.
I've left my headlights on so many times without a buzzer.

Anyone know an easy spot to tap into "reverse gear indicator" so my backup cam comes up automatically?

Assuming it can take a grd or 12V signal?

My reverse alarm comes on immediately after I shift into reverse so I know it can’t be that difficult. Never looked at the wiring though.

Put the parking break and gnd to the same place. Has 2 12v, one ignition and one constant.

Just need the reverse lights wire I suppose.

I'll dig through the electrical diagrams. I don't have a backup cam yet anyway!

Maybe the circuit that goes to your reverse lights? I know a few people on here have installed cams on their 70 series so some digging into IH8MUD with a google search should reveal something.

You could tap in to the transmission/transfer case harness, or the reverse light harness.

Have you got a reference of where this is?

I've got the reverse lights all way in the back quarter panels, but there has to be somewhere closer.

The reverse light switch should be on the side of the transmission case.
