Well why didn't you say so in the first place. That's a very likely suspect. Thankfully you live in an area with little rain so probably something you can live with for a while.

Hello,

The rear corners have drain plugs in the bottom.

There are two models of rear windows.

One model has a thick weatherstrip that surrounds the window frame and has a lip that fits into the body. It is easier to install/repair and it does not leak.

The other model has the window frame glued to the body with sealant or butyl tape. A "sash" goes over the sealant. The seal decays over time and leaks to the inside. The sealant/sash window type requires re-sealing.

It is possible to change the windows to the thick weatherstrip model.

I have the second type. Will be replacing them soon as they're rusted and not in great shape.

Do you have the part numbers for the thick weatherstrip windows?

I've been putting Damplifier Pro inside my body panels, followed by rolling on the Spectrum. The two combined have been rock solid. I even did my ceiling that way.

If you put the Spectrum on your floor you'll want something heavier duty over it unless you're putting in mats. The Spectrum won't take wear/tear.

Looked inside the body panels and water had pooled between the body panels and the inside of the truck. Back right had about 6 inches of water before I pulled the plug underneath to drain that body panel.

Where could this be entering? All were wet inside, but back right was the worst.

Once you re-seal your windows you should get inside the body panels down in the rockers with a scrub brush and hose, with all drain plugs removed. The dirt flowed a long time before I got all the silt out. Under the silt I lucked out on very solid panels. Once dry I put master series down inside the pinch weld seams. I did that before I rolled in the Spectrum.

Where I couldn't reach with the paint (the door rockers) I sprayed Fluid Film (I respray once a year).

Current plan is to put the OEM vinyl back down.

I checked again. I think I made a mistake.

The first type seems to be used only on short wheelbase models.

The second type is used on mid and long wheelbase models.

I remember seeing the first type used on 78 Series but I cannot find it.

Some part numbers, post 1999 from a 78 Series, second type.

First side window, behind the doors.

  4. Window strip, RH: 62471-60320.

The first type seems to be used only in short wheelbase models.

The second type is used on the other models.

Trim and grade depend mostly on market destinations. So do equipment and accessories. They are not random at all.

@Juohn you rock. Thank you for this. Appreciate your expertise and for taking the time put all of this here in this thread.
 
Added an ARB deluxe bull bar. Took off the front bumper before shipment arrived (held on by only 4 bolts), bull bar went on in less than 30 minutes.

Still have my Warn 8274 to fit here this weekend.

Ok, got the Warn 8274 in there in the rough position. Have an offset fairlead from Warn because I'm going synthetic rope vs cable.

Where in the engine bay of the troopy can I put an accessory panel? I want to have a full cutoff switch to the winch via a blue sea on/off switch.
