Finally installed the passenger seat. Had to get with planted to make a custom bracket as their standard one for the FZJ75 didn't line up with 1 of the 4 holes in my floor.

Also made some modifications to my drivers side bracket and gained about 2 inches of additional backwards movement. Much more comfortable position now for my 6'1" frame.

The sound deadening project has begun. Will do this kilamat, spectrum second skin in the entire back of the troopy. Inside the wall panels and on the floor.

Replacing my battery terminals as mine were fubar. My fusible link was old so I replaced it, but I've only got 1 terminal post in the junction. Where do I connect the second fusible link ring terminal?

All positive can go on the same terminal or appropriately rated busbar if you prefer not to have everything on the battery terminal.

Edit - if you’re speaking of the fusible link, the 1HZ has two. Not sure about the 1FZ.

so stack both the leads coming off the fusible link to that single post I have in the junction box?

I have the 1FZ. The part number for my junction from partsouq only has 1 terminal. Toyota 82670-90K00

I've got the larger of the ring terminals on this junction terminal. The other isn't connected to anything. Starts right up just fine. I'm sure I'm screwing something up though.

edit: Per partsouq: The FZJ75 fusible link, 82627-60070 only has one lead coming off of it, pic attached.

So that would be the correct fusible link for your application… and the number of connections would add up, yes?

Yes, it would. But that link is NLA from everywhere I've looked.

Edit: guess I didn't look hard enough. In stock at megazip.

Hello,

This part is long discontinued. Ask me how I know.

Two options:
  1. Use the 1HZ fusible link. You have one lead free for future applications.
  2. Toyotamatt / @ToyotaMatt makes replacement fusible links for the 1FZ engine. Order one from him.

Added some additional sound deadening to my floors.

Behind the front seats will get spray in Spectrum Second Skin. Now I just need to scrub out all the Omani dust that's inside the rear body panels before spraying it in.

Anyone used Spectrum before? Planning to do the entire rear with it, and will roll on some extra on my floorboards.

Seats look great!

Thank you! They're much more comfortable than the 28 year OEM ones. Curious what I should do with those, doubt I'll have any luck trying to sell them.

I would try to sell them. Who knows someone may need them, even it's not for much it may help someone in the US. 70 parts are hard to come by. Or make yourself a nice couch for the garage.

Had the big rain storm here in SoCal from Hilary. Driving this morning I heard sloshing in the back, but no water on the floor.

Looked inside the body panels and water had pooled between the body panels and the inside of the truck. Back right had about 6 inches of water before I pulled the plug underneath to drain that body panel.

Where could this be entering? All were wet inside, but back right was the worst.

is that an Omani spider?

where could that water be coming in from? theres the side vent, and maybe the body joint at the drip rail? maybe feel around and see if you can tell if its dripping down the body?

almost looks like a couple streaks coming from the side vent

1. Yes, I left it there as a warning to all the American spiders.

2. No idea where the water is coming from, it's in all the low areas inside the body panels. Passenger rear near the door the only place with standing water though. All the rest had wet Omani mud, meaning not much got in.

3. I'll look around again, but without another rain storm going to be tough to pinpoint where the water may be coming from.

Most logical would be behind the rear wheel arch, the rear rockers somewhere. Also possible the sliding window runners and/or frames are leaking. Since you have the panels off it’s easier (but simultaneously harder) to pinpoint.
I don’t think you have to wait for a rainstorm. Go to a wand car wash, and spray away. Or (if allowed by your neighbourhood/city/state/water restrictions) take a garden hose on high pressure and hose it down.
I’m sure you’ll find some water somewhere and you’ll have your answer.

I think it may be from the rear sliders. I took all of them out a while back to check for rust. I removed the caulking behind all of them, as I was planning to put Explore Glazing replacements in.

But then I had to start driving this vehicle much sooner due to my accident in my 200 series. I just put the side windows back in with no caulk and used the trim pieces to hold them in place.
