Oil Pressure

My 1984 fj60 tends to run pretty low oil pressure when its hot outside. In the cooler months and in the mornings it reads just fine. What could cause the low pressure readings when its hot out?

Cold oil is thicker and more pressure is required to push it through the engine, hot oil is thinner and flows easier. In all likelihood your engine (assuming 2F) is normal and you have nothing to worry about.

Put a real, mechanical gauge on it and see what the actual engine pressure is.
