Somebody might pay $5k for it, but it looks more like a $1500 truck to me. The intake being off is not a good sign. Is the engine locked up? Regardless, it looks like a ton of work. Busted tailgate handle is a buzz kill too. I saw one on eBay for $900 not too long ago. Just to clarify, the tailgate handle was $900, not the truck!

This is why you guys rock. I offered him $500 and he tilted his head and smiled. My mechanic has been doing this for 40+ years. I will go back to him with this info. I do not want it, repeat-I do not want it.

Hey all. First post for me - big milestone ;-)

I live in Raleigh, NC, recently bought a 1997 LC, joined the IH8MUD community, and wanted to introduce myself. I've learned a ton on this site, and now that I have my own LC expect to be going through quite a steep learning curve caring for my new rig! And I'm the guy @uzj100 was kind enough to help get connected to this community to track down a used hitch. I very much appreciate all the help you all have provided on that front!

@mtweller I think it was you that mentioned you had a spare hitch? Let me know if that's right, and if so how best to coordinate time to pick it up and your preferred libations! Very much appreciated.

Thanks all!

Will do
Check out OTRAMM's repair and maintenance videos here on Mud and more on Youtube.

Will do, thank you sir! I had OTRAMM do a pre-purchase inspection on another LC up in VA that I passed on based on their input. Good people!

Welcome! I'm in Cary and I have the hitch here for you anytime. I'll PM you my number and address. Bevs not necessary, but if you insist I am a sucker for hoppy IPAs (juicy, west coast, etc).

Looking for a single license plate light cover for my 1978 FJ40. Hoping around triangle area so I can drive and pick up.

Here is a pic to a new one for reference to what I'm after. Worse case if no one has one I'll buy new and get shipped, but was hoping for used because I think if I buy a brand new one I'd have to go ahead and buy two so they match which wouldn't be bad, but wanted to save some money and also not wait on shipping.

I'm thinking about selling my FJ soon and want this part on there as it is a bit of an eye sore without it on there.

New pic attached/below and PM me or email me at info@michaelharrisco.com.

Also, I hope this community is doing well. I loved being part of it years ago, but like many life has happened, my FJ has sat idle in the garage with little driving the last few years and I haven't touched it/had to fix anything in a long time.

I have set of 5 wagon wheels and tires from my 1979 40. Plenty of tread on the 4 bfg all terrains but they are showing some minor cracks/rot. The tire on the spare is completely shot. Wheels and tires are located in apex. Not sure that they are worth but feel free to make me an offer.

Del and Fred - if @FJ Noob is going to Fall Crawl in VA (Oct 23-25) in a couple weeks, and if he can get them from Del, I can get them at Fall Crawl and bring them to Fred in Charlotte the last week of October.
