Wow! Thank you for the quick response. I can start looking for the correct kit for my 40.

Hey Everybody, Recently purchased a 1980 FJ40. Of course its missing the tools and the jack and rods are a mystery. I am trying to piece together a tool kit and jack and rods with carrying case. Can anyone provide some info on what this should look like. Picture of a complete set up would be great, or point me in the right direction. The 40 was built late 1979 and is registered as a 1980. Thanks.
Here's how you can get the refills very quickly:

Contemporary tools are available from Toyota Japan through services such as amayama.com.

So I have the spark plug socket/bar, a 12/10mm combo and 14/17mm combo end wrench and pliers for my 10/78 manu date tool bag. Can anyone tell me what else should be in the bag? Maybe @wscbill and @JohnnyC can chime in? Thanks.

@wscbill thanks a million Bill. Will hunt down the remaining tools

I have most of it just need a few things..............my bud Pat fixed my original zipper for the bag. Probably would have been damn near impossible to find a matching one......................

I am hearing the original jack and jack rods for '79-83 FJ40's is still available new from Toyota. Can anyone confirm this?

From what I find, the Jack for 08.80-'84 is still available:

09110-60040 - Jack Assy which includes jack rod handle.

$111.75

Additionally (forgive me if it is already known, but I figured since I have the diagram up) the following tools are still available for the same year range.

9991312000 - Pliers
9991510700 - (+ -) Screwdriver
9991411417 - spanner (14x17)
9991411012 - spanner (10x12)
0915060010 - wrench assy, wheel nut
0918300030 - wrench, wheel cap
0918360010 - wheel cap replacer

The 81-84 jack, part number 09110-60040 is no longer available, superseded by part number 09110-60150, example here.

The current tools for those tool part numbers are, for the most part, different than the originals. The tool reference chart in prior post #81 identifies currently available tools and provides some comparative descriptions.

For example 99913-12000 pliers no longer include any Toyota marking. There is a service tool pliers 09042-1C210 with a better finish, marked Toyota, available from Japan.

99913-12000
These pliers available from Toyota dealers are unmarked, with dimpled grips.

Similar situation with the spanners. The original part number versions are generic.

Continue with your regularly scheduled program. I read through the thread later in depth and realized I was probably out of my league with the analysis going on.

The toolkit world here is now on par with long hood 911 restorations. Keep up the good work!

@brian nice score on that bag-pretty sure the zippered version is NLA

@wscbill So I bought a bottle jack from a mud member as a project. 09110-35011 is the part number. It came with 19 ball bearings that go between the cups in my picture. Is that the correct number and what size do I need as replacements as these are very rusty. Also what is best grease to pack with upon re-assembly? Thanks

Oh a pic of recently cleaned up parts because we all like pics!

19 is the correct number. 3/16 inch bearing balls are approx 4.7mm. Multi-purpose grease is adequate. From the Jack Reference.

@wscbill many thanks Bill. Also, if you don't mind, what size JIS screwdriver would be best for the JIS Panhead phillips that hold it together?? I need to buy some. Thanks!
