@wscbill So my jack rebuild is coming along nicely. The last bottle jack I redid I used Ace Hardware Ruston School Bus yellow as it was a great paint and very close match to original color. Went back and bought a new Can only to find the newer Can style is a color closer to a light cream, not at all like last Can I used. Can anyone reccomend another readily available color that is a good match? Thanks

@Economist LC76 wow what a great find. Was this something sold at the dealerships back in the day, or did the FJ40 come with one? Anyone have an opinion on color for -35011 series yellow bottle jack? Maybe @wscbill can help? Thanks

Perhaps you got a mislabeled can.

I guess a mislabeled can is also possible, will find out from Ace. I have the new style can but labeled the same as old. Will get a pic up later when I find out more.

@JackA I bought the Ace School Bus Yellow and it is WAY lighter, actually cream colored compared to my older can of the same product. Is Ace Rustop School Bus Yellow Gloss what you bought too?

My older can looks like the Ace can pictured above, newer can looks different but labeled the same. The painted area from the older can is perfect, paint form newer can looks cream colored, not correct.

So it turns out the "new" silver colored can of the same color School Bus Yellow Gloss

Pulled apart a 35011 yellow jack to restore only to find I could not figure out how it "unscrews" from the slotted shaft so I can slide the shaft out of the bottom. Looked for a set screw or something that may be retaining it but am stumped. Maybe @wscbill can chime in here? Thanks

Thanks I am reading thru your Jack Reference, so informative. I see it s a spring clip, will check post #206. Thanks again Bill.

Small world! I just wheeled with Larry (@zags) a few weeks back in Sedona. I am guessing we can no longer get those spring clips? Guess re-using will work just fine. Big thanks @wscbill

Will get her in a vice later today and get it unscrewed. Will get with @zag to chat with him about re-installing the spring clip.

@brian where did you find that bag? I thought they were NLA. Have a part number by any chance??

Thanks but I believe that that part number is the replacement for 09120-60050 and is the wrap style bag, not the zippered pouch style bag that @brian posted the picture of. Anyone have a part number for the zippered pouch style bag? Maybe @brian bought it used as NOS.
