Great work Bryan!! Thanks for your feedback.. I see floor pans got installed.

Just curious: Is that all there is to adapting the SBC to the Toyota transmission, just a bellhousing plate? Do you need to have a special pilot bushing on the crankshaft?

Cool rebuild.

The previous owner did the swap to the SBC. The bellhousing plate was added but no special pilot bushing.

Had to post some pictures of the windshield I removed from my FJ40. There was not much left. I was able to parts blast the linkage, paint it and get it back into working condition. Also tested the wiper motor and it also works. You can see the video link here.

I got a new windshield from Land Cruiser Heaven. So far I'm very happy how everything fits.

WTF?

Yeah, I was 20+ years old back in the 70's. I remember a good portion of the decade. But not all of it... What I do recall was no auto make used good steel. Looking at the Toyota frame is akin to looking at a CJ frame from the same era....

there is a reason that most of the asian and english imports from the 70s are gone... as for steel - salt is a hateful substance. In places that didn't use salt, there are a lot of cars and trucks still around.

Been working for months on replacing rusted out body panels. Both floor pans were installed. Still have some grinding to do on the passenger side. I wish I had more pictures, but have rebuilt the drivers side rocker, and the drivers side area where the seat belt bolt goes. There was so much rust in this area that the seat belt bolt was not being held in by much. Looking forward to moving onto the fenders, hood, bib, hardtop sides, front and back doors!

Picz34, if you don't mind me asking, how long did it take from Land Cruiser Heaven to get you the parts? I was planning on buying a tub.

From what I understand he has a container that leaves Columbia every month. Saying that, from the time you order until the time it gets to your door step my take a few months. Contact @FloridaFJ80, he will give you the details.

Ordered and received all the last body parts I need to complete the body work. Will have alot more work to do now. Thankfully the front cowl and rear tub and all done now. Once I get all these patch panels in I will be sending it to the sandblaster to get back to bare metal. Slowly gaining ground on this pig!

Been doing a lot of work to the body over the last month. Trying to get every rust spot cut out and repaired with new metal. We were finally able to bring in the rear tub from LC Heaven to mock everything up. The rear tub did require a few modifications, but it is going to work. Hopefully over the next month I can finish up on this portion of the job.

What mods were required for the tub? I have heard the same thing. Looking at this being an affordale option for me and my "new project" i have not shown mud yet lol

I believe the modifications that I was required to do we corrected out of the factory now. Overall I'm pretty happy with the rear tub. Saying that I have not bolted it down yet.

Outstanding work. I highly recommend removing that "anti-sway" bar as it will severely limit your articulation. The springs need to flex separately when moving over obstacles.

I ordered a set of FJ 45 LPB rear fenders they are done however I have waited awhile for the container to fill up. As far as the quality the pics look good will see when I get them. It has bee 3+ months waiting, if they are a good quality it will be worth the wait as no one is reproducing these parts Still more shipping from the east coast to west about another week or so. will keep you guys posted on updates and total cost with shipping.
