More tear down over this past week. Everything is coming apart pretty good for the most part. All the seals are in pretty decent shape. The windshield doesn't appear to be reusable though. Does anyone have a good place to buy another one?

Since galvanizing processes are so hot , I'm starting to lean towards having a full dip acid/E-coat process done - it seems promising looking at some of the newer sheetmetal products out there that seem to hold up very well . I'd imagine that process along with a good quality epoxy primer should seal that metal about as good as it gets . I know some have had the frames galvanized and that's great , don't know if anyone has done a full tub yet...

Ecoating would be awesome on a bare metal tub. I had my frame done. My suppliers vat is about 3.5' deep. just enough for a tub.

Wow!!! Nice score!! I call that price "the five finger discount with walkaway prices"!!!

Thanks for sharing your story!!

Welcome to the MUDness!!

Engine pulled! Good news is the frame looks very solid. Now its time to start cleaning everything up. I'm sure reassembly will take as long as disassembly right?

Wow! You're making progress with that... Interesting that it has the torsion bar connecting the front shackles. Never seen that on a fj40- only on old scouts.
