RESTORATION
This truck has been painted Olive and is accompanied by a new soft top, complementing the rest of the vehicle nicely. The front bumper is new and the rear bumper has been freshly painted. In addition, the exterior chrome pieces have been refinished. There are no notable flaws in terms of the paint as this was restored within the last six months. The rubber is fresh and supple, all sealing properly. The metal fitment on this truck is spot on, as the seams and gaps are all consistent and even throughout. The doors and hood all open and close without hassle and close solidly.

The interior itself is finished in a later model Toyota brown vinyl captain’s seats that are not original spec but a great upgrade. The center console includes a 12V charger for the modern driver and a Bluetooth radio to match. The original gauges have been reconditioned and fitted along with all the electronics which are fully functional, reading accurately. All knobs, handles, switches, and levers work appropriately. In addition, the dash and floors have been freshly painted.

Opening the hood shows evidence of a proper restoration that can be appreciated by any enthusiast. All the workings have been replaced or reconditioned. Every hose, clamp, and mount has been addressed with all repairs executed with careful thought.

The aftermarket wheels are mounted to new Roadcruza RA 3200 mud tires. This truck was also outfitted with disc brakes. The rear bed has two drop down seats that have been newly reupholstered to match the look of the front seats. The roll bars have been repainted and have padding installed. Overall, the rear space is a fairly nice place to be and matches with the quality of the rest of the vehicle.

Inspection of the undercarriage of this vehicle will reveal an updated suspension that includes coil springs, shocks, and hangers. All remaining components and the underside itself has been diligently cleaned and repainted as well as a layer of undercoating neatly applied.

As far as the drivability of this Land Cruiser is concerned, it was once said that ‘The only comfort feature in this truck are the padded seats’ so it does not provide the most comfortable ride on the street but these vehicles dominate on rough terrain. The truck starts with ease and runs quietly without any excessive smoke. All major systems perform flawlessly, the clutch operating as it should followed by smooth gear changes. The oil pressure remains at an acceptable reading and builds with acceleration while the water temperature remains constant. The brake pedal will bring the driver to a complete stop.
In conclusion, this FJ43 Land Cruiser has been passed through by more than capable hands. The example on offer sets the bar high, for the attention to detail paired with the in-depth knowledge and research conveyed in the restoration goes above and beyond.

***This truck located in Newtown, CT and available to view by appointment***

you'd think they would be able to get and install the correct upper rad hose.

Restoring an FJ43 to that level is like feeding strawberries to a pig. Frankly, there's something dissatisfying about the 43 model, perhaps it's the lack of nostalgic history compared to being 16yo in a 40 series.

All communitys is the same.
I am not sure if LandRover from India or Brazil is the same quality as the UK market.
I see you own a few FJ40.. looks like you a not very new to this truck. Non-US market trucks will be always under pressure here.
Good luck with all your sales.

Thanks SergP. That context is helpful. The Santana Land Rover is equal if not better. The quality of work in these two Colombian trucks are impeccable. I appreciate the support and context.

is this the type of board that trashes other people's listings? New to this community but not this type of community. (Volvo, Land Rover).

take some minor criticism. first line in the craigslist ad is RESTORATION
a $15 dollar part that is obviously wrong makes one wonder what other corners were cut during the RESTORATION
with a listed price of $40,000

just my 2 cents,

Why is the bumper, so.. rectangular looking? Why wasn’t a new bumper purchased since it’s front and center in your first picture?

The seats are also not original. Some people put Honda engines in these things. It's all what you choose to do. I guess you could call it "Stock-ish". Thanks for the feedback Matt.
