Just picked up this 2011 URJ200 due to my UZJ100 being totaled about a month ago:

Looking to get started on mods and am looking for suggestions on suspension. The long term plan is ARB front and rear bumpers, so I'll need something that can handle the future weight load. would like adjustable coil overs up front also.

TIA for the input.

Congrats, looks great. I just picked up my '11 a month ago. Yours looks clean!

Depending on how fat your wallet is, Icon makes a great lift kit that many members here are running. The kit is at the top end of the spectrum as far as price, but seems like quality stuff. Also, there are several venders here on Mud that sell Old Man Emu kits and come in different configurations and load levels for a more reasonable cost. Lastly, Tough Dog is another suspension kit that gets great reviews and Jason @reevesci can hook you up with that kit. The Tough Dog can be ordered with a mild or heavy load kit just like the OME. I wish I could help more, but hopefully some other members will chime in. Good luck either way, and welcome to the 200 club :)

Surprisingly clean for the mileage (110k), and it's from Cali, absolutely NO RUST. It's a totally different ride than the 100, taking a little getting used to.

I looked at the Icon and OME set-ups, liked what Icon had to offer...

It would be ideal to do bumpers and suspension at the same time this way you're not riding around on stiff springs before the bumpers get put on.

You are correct, but it's more a timing thing than anything else. Wouldn't be much more than a couple of months between the suspension and bumpers.

110k miles is just stretching her legs :) You can't go wrong with Icon for sure as it seems to be a popular choice among many Mud members. I know the stage 5 kit is a little over $5k, but if you plan to do some serious off-road trips and keep your rig for a while, maybe it's worth it.

Yeah, the '05 100 only had 185k and was just getting into her rhythm.

I was looking at the stage 2 & 3 Icon kits and UCA's/trailing arms that are a bit cheaper than theirs.

What is your intended use for the truck? how big are you looking to go? what are you planning on spending on lift?
do you prefer tall/skinny tires or big fat mud slingers

Hey man... nice truck! Have one that looked just like it a while ago. Mods came quickly. :)

You are going to love it compared to the 100.

You know I'm right in the neighborhood if you want to take a look. Have the safari front ARB. I run the Ironman system and really like it, and it's pretty inexpensive compared to many out there.

Let me know if you want to grab a beer and take a look one day.

Yet another reason us ATL people need to get together.

I'm right down the street from you, and I have a hub socket with your name on it... it was rolling around in the back of the 100 for a long time

What rear bumper is that?

@steenh has the RLC rear bumper. Search for RLC and you'll find it. @Willy beamin had it custom made in Kentucky, and you can get one. I just got mine and it's at powder coat right now. Hopefully installing this Saturday.

Icon with the Tundra conversion..... very smooth.... great looking rig !

Just saw your sig... so the 100 just died last month? Sorry to hear that, and hope no one got hurt. Forgot all about that hub socket :) must be 7-8 years ago haha.

Really like the RLC bumper a lot. very high profile compared to any of the others I've seen (haven't seen them all) and 18 months in I have had no issues.

Let me know what works on getting together.

Best thing to do is look at the members build threads in the 200 series FAQ.

If you plan on wheeling it
1) lift
2) Tires
3) Sliders
4) Skid Plates
5) Front Bumper
6) Rear Bumper

and then based on how you want to customize

Heres a 2013 we built a little while back... King 2.5 Coilover Suspension, Lift Upper/Lower UCA's 35" Goodyear Duratracs, enlarged fender arches with Flares, VPR high clearance Bumpers, Front & Rear Big brake kit, Front & Rear lockers with 4.88 Gears, Frontrunner roof rack, Royalty Core Stainless Grille. White knuckle DOM Sliders with top step plates, Comeup winch, and Lazerstar LED lights. Focused on everything functional based off of armor vehicle specs (without the B6 plating of course), that way you can "bomb" the desert at 80mph. On this one many of the original prototypes for the parts were developed with this build. More pics will be added to our build thread for the vehicle. I will add a link soon.

Yeah, I thought about tossing it in the parking lot up there a few times ;)

I think I owe you a few brewskies and would love to see the 200...

As a general direction for modding, I'm really liking where Expedition Overland is going with their 200-series. It depends on your usage, but for overlanding, they generally go the direction of mods with a good balance between more function/protection, while keeping compromises like weight to a minimum. In their videos, they constantly bring up weight. And I do believe it is their experience where they've realized that too much weight is a compromise to handling, efficiency, and durability for long distance travel.

The CBI stuff looks really good as well.
