Now that you have a tube bender, make a fuel line (5/16th)! I was hoping to find you at Valley Hybrid's meet up because I have a fuel line for ya. I had bent a couple for my 6/70 Spring Green survivor, you would only need the olives and fittings.

Edited: I just looked, our carbs fuel inlet have a slight different bend.

Ordered Capri tools bender and flare tool.
I have a Ridgid bender if you need it for the price of the ride. I did most of mine by hand on the 2002, they were mild steel and felt like I got better control that way. Cunifer is evidently shapeable by hand if you go that route.

I (we) were there for an hour or so, I looked through the swap but didn’t see any. Which spring green was yours?

the unmodified one next to the 70 series camper LWB/RHD. I wasn't selling, but brought it with me to hand to you cuz shipping just isn't worth it. It looks like you arrived a little later. There was a Bandeirante parked in front of me.

This one? The bandy is facing it. There was a multitude of green ones that day.

You might want to figure out some way to top coat the body filler, or remove it, treat the metal under it, reapply it, then top coat it. It attracts moisture and can cause rust between it and the metal surface. The latter might be opening up a can of worms.

I need to get back on removing it. Time to pick up another sander, my old one died.

A 120v handheld heat gun makes quick work of removing bondo like that. It becomes pliable and you can remove it with a rigid scraper with a semi sharp edge. Doesnt have to be razor sharp, but sharp helps. Much much less mess than a sander.

Got a (wrong) fuel line in for now, but it won’t idle anymore. Not sure if there’s a screw I can adjust or what. I’ve tried letting it warm up a bit on choke and slowly releasing it, but no luck.

Is this an Aisan or the Rochester (I think) carb? Uneducated guess but I’d check the idle speed screw first. Give it a few turns in and see if it stays running.

Aisin. I don’t know which one is the idle speed screw 🤣

I’ve tried adjusting both of these while keeping it running with no difference that I can tell.
I know I need to time it a little more as well. Just weird that the last couple times I had it running it idled fine. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I certainly don't know this carb, but if I had to guess, the screw to the right of the top one you circled looks like the idle speed screw. It would mimic pushing on the gas pedal to open up the butterflies a bit. The bottom one you circled might be the idle mixture screw, which opens / closes a little hole in the base of the carb to let gas in while at idle. No idea what the top one is.

@65swb45 Mark has forgotten more about carbs than pretty much anyone on Mud will ever know....

He rebuilt this carb 😉

Started making brake lines, got it running again. It won’t make it to Petaluma again in July but maybe next year. I get to pull the front off to change a leaking water pump now, in addition to finishing the brakes.
Also still on the hunt for the elusive 03-09/69 hard fuel line.

Attempted to make a rear brake line to go with the front. I need an adapter before I can bleed them though.
Ordered a water pump so that will be next.
