Just slightly lower first gear (4.925:1), causing wider spacing of 2 & 3rd, but same 4th (1:1). Some people like them better off-road, you will just feel the shorter 1st gear …

My '83 middle east spec Troopy has an H41 transmission. First is definitely very low.

Ditto at least the 3B in my troopy gives you feeling you have more range than you actually have. It’s like shifting almost through intersection instead of first 10’

Well-delivery pal in F250 with 4000# trailer parked where (exactly where) I told him NOT to park- soft muddy downslope, after trying to winch himself out-we offloaded the FJ and it pulled him out, trailer and all like nothing
