arcteryx has a couple used flares, I am sure - just sayin' - much easier than filling up 160 holes - and the clips are not that expensive from CDan or beno

I mangled my running boards, which will be replaced by sliders anyway - but if I were to mangle a flare, I would replace rather than deflare - but that's just me :meh:

Definitely keep the flares! Lets see some pics of the progress - before your wife kills you and you can't get back on the forum.

I always wanted to keep my flares but I ended up deflaring so I would stop worrying about trees. If you live out west (not many trees) or don't wheel that hard the flares look much better IMO.

Saw that coming!

NICE FIND! A little work and bed liner and you are set!

Unfortunately for me when they installed the security system they hacked the CDL harness and cut the plug. They also just jammed the alarm controller up under the dash. Not that big a thing but I was hopping for plug and play. As far as electric locks do not mess around with EBAY, contact CDAN and have him dig up the right controller for you, other wise you are just rolling the dice and hopping to get the right fob. Ask me how I know... :bang:

I bought the 2 for $29 remotes on Ebay and they have far better range then the Toyota OEM ones. Locate box under drivers seat and hold green button with something pointy to see that dash light responds. Then order the remotes and program. Takes 5 mins tops. Toyota remotes are highway robbery, just saying.

I too rebuilt my PS pump and it was a rather enjoyable job. Take pics as you take it apart to easy reassembly. I bought the Gates kit ($15) and it is built to OEM specs or you gan get OEM for $45 and will never know the difference. Order a new bearing just in-case yours is toast, get a name brand so you don't have to tear into again. Replace all the rubber hoses as you go (5/8 Gates fits Power Steering Pump Reservoir). The PHH can be replaced with a piece of Gates also so buy 6'.

Don't forget to check the diffs for fluid level, and grease the zirks underneath.

Ensure dash lights are burned out and not missing, which is likely masking a bigger problem.

My seat was redone so I'm adding seat heaters ($45 Amazon) and bought Neoprene covers (Cover King).

These trucks are fun to work on.
Might want to consider doing roof in same truck liner color you using on flares.

Just bought my first 80 a couple of weeks ago and have yet to do any mod's to it only PM and my wife is ready to kill me.

Alright, Lets update this shall we. Since January I've gotten rid of my old Cruiser Dillon

It was sad to see it go, but it went to a good home and it was time to move on. It served me well and I learned a lot about cruisers and wheeling in this thing.

Also, I finally received the AOE front bumper. It took a while and it's missing some stuff but whatever.

I got a lot of parts from Beno finally put in. I really messed up the oil pump cover screws and finally said to hell with it and took it to a mechanic. $350 later and my A/C is fixed and oil pump cover seal replaced.

Because the AOE sits in front of the blinkers I moved them into the corner markers. You can read about it here. I removed the Third row seats and gave them away to @Taco crawler , it was way easier to get ride of them than selling them.

This morning I woke up at around 3. I didn't plan on waking up that early it happened. I must have been excited, or maybe it's because my daughter kicked me out of the bed and I was on the floor. I don't know. But, I got on the road at 500 to go pick up my birthday present to myself. I think it was the day I sold my cruiser I found @AMMO 's thread that he was selling his Inti. I've wanted one of those since before I bought my first cruiser. I just love them, but when I got my first cruiser it needed work and money was tight. Then they stopped making them and all the used ones were on the other side of the country. So when one came up on the west coast I was going to hope on it. And it was actually pretty close too. So anyway on the road early

I had to make a stop to drop off a gift to some family that is moving to Georgia at the end of the month then headed over to @AMMO 's place to pic up my rack. First let me say, he's a great guy. We had some great conversation and he had everything out and ready to install the rack on my rig. Oh and his rig is the craziest I've ever seen. @AMMO when you're ready to get rid of those windows let me know I'll trade you. This was also my first time seeing a rig with 37's on it up close. Those things are massive even with 8 inches of lift. I may want to stick to 35's so my wife doesn't get too scared to drive this thing. We got the rack installed and I headed out (thanks for the heads up on gas by the way, 14.3 MPG on the way up). Stopped for some Pho after filling up and got on the road. I stopped off in Elk Grove to drop off my to hitch to @shockervang ;again way easier to get rid of versus selling (sorry I couldn't find all the bolts). So here it is installed, for now.

First impression, it "whistles" over about 65-70. It's not any louder than the other road noises I hear in the cabin. Also, I like it just as much as I though I would. But, It's coming right back off. I'm pulling the steps off as well as the flares. I'm going to start pulling all the interior out. I have a lot to do. Getting it ready for Liner and Dual batteries using a 12voltguy.com dual battery/winch kit. This means running wires and a lot of other stuff. I hope to get all of this done in the next month or two. We will see. Stay tuned.

Bump.
You've got a lot of great ideas for your rig...
I was just wondering on your progress.
I almost bought Taco crawlers rig, it was allready set up nice...
White 80s are the best.

So it’s been a while since I did any updates on here. I’ve had a lot done and done a lot. Let’s start with the electrical work. I’ve installed a dual pattern system by 12 Volt Guy. I love it and I put a lot of work into it. Here is a thread where I talk about the install. During the install I had the entire interior out to run wires and do my roof wiring install with a Cannon Plug I got from my old job. During that time I covered every surface with LobuCrud Insulation. They aren’t in business anymore you can purchase the same stuff at Carinsulation.com. Do I notice a difference in sound? No, but I may just be used to it and I don’t drive my rig everyday.

I’ve since rebuilt the rear storage I started. The first one was poorly thought out and the wood was terrible and could not be made square. I still need to cover it with MonstaLiner, but I’m pretty satisfied with how I did with a budget. It ain’t pretty, but it works.

The rig is no longer white, It’s been monstalined as previously mentioned. Burnt Orange and White, Hook ‘Em I’ve modified the IntiRack to prepare it for a tent and I’ve gotten some lights installed, I also replaced a lot of the hardware as it was rusting the corrosion was spreading. Sanded a lot of it down and painted it all.

After having the parts laying around for more than 6 years, I’ve finally gotten the York OBA installed with no tank. At 1500ish RPMS I took my 285 from 12 PSI to 35 PSI in less than 55 seconds.

Next big thing is likely going to be a 4x4 Labs rear bumper with some custom swing outs for a tire and tools on one side and a couple of baskets on the other side.

I’d given a lot of thought to a diesel swap. Being in California it’s basically becoming more and more impossible. It’s also prohibitively expensive. I’m not looking to win races, nor do I really care about fuel mileage. My main goal in doing something like that is to increase the range of the vehicle, so now I’m looking at a dual tank set up. Still in the research stage, but I’m sure it will be way cheaper than a motor swap.

Smaller things are lighting upgrades and electrical stuff since I have plenty of room on my new fuse block.

I might get around to posting some pics of some of my recent upgrades.

I would like to see your orange & white monster line 80.
post pics please.:)

It’s a little dirty. Need to give it a bath I love the fact that I just hit it with the soap dispenser on the pressure washer, scrub it real quick with a brush, and pressure wash it all off.

Like the paint job....

Very nice, I'm surprised I haven't seen it around town.
Next time @ToyotaDon & I go out on an adventure we should give you a invite.
Infact... Turf-N-Surf is the next group event I'm headed to, you should think about going.
