Thank you very muck everybody!

Now I need to find some new "Black" seat covers for the 45. I wrote to SOR they do not provide them in Black? mine really looks Black and not grey.

Do you Guys know of other Companies selling this kind of seat cover?

they are black
you can get a good upholstery shop to use the old as patterns and create new with better material. i have done this many times. the importance is the QUALITY of shop you use so shop around. a lot of times it is the small shop that does the best work ... and usually charge more but worth it in the end.

Hi Crushers

I have being asking a lot of the shops in my area and they want between 1800-2200 use for the seats only!!! That is a lot of money. So I am thinking about buying from Cruiser Corps if they are any good and make the covers in black. It is half the price even with shipping, taxes etc!

yes, that is what i paid, roughly.
but
if the material is better than stock and the workmanship is top notch then it is worth every penny.
i found the material of the generic after market covers to be less than acceptable ...

remember, the seat covers is the one place on the interior that sees heavy use. dragging you butt in and out the door, abrasive belts, stuff in your pockets, dog's paws, spilled drinks and food. you want quality.

considering the amount of work and pride you have taken with your truck build, it would be sad to see you cheap out on the seats.

just my opinion ... and ... it's not my money.

cheers and congrats again.

After looking back through your thread, you've got seats we never got here in the states (obviously not in a 45 since we didn't get them after '67). So the FJ45 LWBs we got here would have the early style 60/40 split bench like this:

The FJ40s we got in the states went to the late-model seats with the gas tank under the floor in '79, so the FJ45 seats would have looked like this:

You seem to have seats that correspond with our '73-'78 FJ40 seats we got here, except in a 60/40 split configuration. I'm not sure of anyone who makes these other than SOR :(

They gray they use will be pretty dark, but you are correct in that there was a black option during these years (on the FJ40 sold here as well). I guess you can talk to Shane and see what he says, but not sure he's going to have a template for these. I paid in the $700 range for the covers he made for my FJ40 (which were fantastic):

Hmm… I will search more for options in Denmark first!

I must admit that there is a long way to the bottom of my pockets right now ;)

I will keep you updated!

Thx guys

the Canadian market got the black seats in the 45s for a short period. not sure the years but my one 45 had them.

Hi everybody! Now it is on number plates and ready to hit the roads! I have had my first trip in the old lady and it was okay - a lot of noise and a lack of power :) I have spooled some 8mm wire on the winch.

JESPER where did you find the boot (the plastic cover) of the lever of the winch?

Congratulation anyway for your job, I would like to have your skill!!!!
