Stephen, this cable isn't any worse then the cable from the battery to the starter. I've got all the cables loomed and wrapped, cable clamped and zipped tied so they should be ok, but like everything else on the 40 I'll always keep an eye on them to make sure they stay in good shape.

Lets hope that it will be ok and I'll keep and eye on it (I'm a little anal about preventative maintenance ;) )

If I can keep my current pace up, I hope to have it on the road before then end of September (as long as there's no surprise...)

Andy, no new pics.

I've been working on home reno's since September keeping the :princess: happy. Almost done, so if I can make it to boxing day, I'll be back on the 40 to finish it off for next spring (seems like I say that every year ;) )

So the kitchen reno's are done and the honey-do list as gotten short. The :princess:'s are happy so I'm back in the shop.

Nothing exciting to show but tons of progress. Pretty much all of the wiring from the back and the engine compartment has been run to the dash. Looming, wrapping and securing cable is time consuming... Also got the Dakota Digital dual fan controller and Diesel tach module installed in the glove box. Most of the wiring here is done too. Going to make a plexi shield in front of the modules to protect them when I throw stuff in the glove box.

Fabbed up a little shield to protect the vent filter and also got some mud flaps installed on the rear.

Rear heater is installed and I'm almost ready to install the front one (a little bit of wiring left to do before its installed) the plumbing is ready to install, so should go pretty quick. Also got the dryer for the A/C and the overflow bottle permanently installed.

Lots of stuff done and lots left to do but things look good for this summer (lets hope nothing happens...)

Saw a post of yours in a knuckle swap thread and clicked on the link to your build. Have to admit I looked at your first page then skipped to this one. Wasn't sure if that was the same truck! That thing is looking awesome. Keep it up and heres to hoping for a summer drive!

Thanks for all the comments guys. Things are still looking good for the summer, but right now the heater/a-c system is being a PITA to install. I've spent way more time then I should have on the system. The things we do to keep the :princess: happy.

Kevin, if you need any help with the A/C let me know. I have a bunch of bulk hose and fittings left over from an old project, incl a compressor. I also picked up a vacuum pump and a 30lb tank of R134 last fall. I spent 10 yrs designing A/C systems for speciality vehicles.

Bump for an awesome rig. :D

Bikersmurf thanks for the bump :)

Canman (Steve???) I would really appreciate the help with the A/C. System is all plumbed in but it would be nice to get a second opinion on my setup. Still need to figure out the wiring. I would love if you came over with the vacuum pump. Don't really want to pay shop rates for trouble shooting my custom setup. Lets email and figure out when you can come over.

Sorry for the lack of posts but I finally got the 40 on the road. Still have a few gremlins to fix (transmission doesn't want to shift into reverse when hot) but its now plated, insured and ready to drive once I get the transmission problem fixed. Here are a few shots of the finish product.

Still have stuff to do but now I get to drive it :)

Too bad I missed seeing it last week. I hope you are able to fix your trans problem.
