We had also finished our steering components last week. A little unusual what we used but they work. A pair of 40 TREs and a pair of 80 TREs....made a really cool steering rod too. Really nice setup and all the ends have grease fittings.

We'll use an FJ80 steering stabilizer...might get around to that this week.

Short week on the 45.....working on modding the floor to clear the transfer now that it has been moved back due to the 4 speed conversion....coming along really nicely. Worked on cleaning the previously installed Durabak off the floors too. Aircraft stripper did the trick....

We will have to modify the tunnel as well to conform to the new floor....I'm expecting that to be a little moe involved....

Received my Dakota Digital gauge kit this week too.....these things are cool. The purist in me has a little bit of a tough time accepting it but it's great to accurately keep an eye on things with the motor AND the amount of things you can do with it is pretty amazing. Really cool product...and it uses the OEM metal gauge face...so it looks pretty legit.

Man your shop is clean!! Nice job on the steering box. Mine is similar but used a rhd 60 series box on the inside of the frame rail.

I love clean shops....and when your showroom is your shop, you'd better keep it clean.

Have a pic of that 60 box mounted inside the frame? Sounds really cool.

Filler piece in the floor. Up next is the tunnel cover. Going to need some work not only in this area but the area around the shifter to clear. We'll probably raise it up an inch or so....

That's really cool....I'll have to try one out on the next truck.

Finished up the puzzle piecing of the tunnel....tomorrow we raise it an inch or so for clearance.

Installed the MC today....texture black powdercoat to match the valve cover.

Trying to work on air cleaner and battery placement this week too....

Yeah... that's a tight fit. Nice work. Can you post a picture looking directly down on the brake master to see the clearance to the manifold?

Thanks.

It's not as tight of a fit as you'd think. Plenty of room. We run this setup in a couple of my trucks and there are no issues.

How does your extension of the floor work with the seat legs? Original passenger seats had a leg in that area. I like your mod but just wondering.

This is an LV....so no leg. 45LPBs have that and I seem to recall my 40s having one too. Wouldn't be an issue though...just cut it down and shorten.

Trans hump needs about an inch of clearance.

I think I missed a few pics along the way but this is the finished product....way nicer than the other ones we've built. Took a lot of time but it's spot on. Kind of a shame to cover it all up with Lizard Skin and bed liner....

About 4 full days to be precise.....a ton of work. It's amazing how the hours get burned up in these kinds of projects...glad I'm not paying retail for it.
