Plate welded up....sleeves get a full bead around them on the outside of the frame, inner plate gets some good 1" welds around it. ...box bolts right up.

Tomorrow we paint all of it black and move on to something else....

Yup. 80. That little orange 40 in the shop had this setup on it. Really nice. it's a super tight fit where the steering is against the radiator frame/support but that can be moved over ever so slightly for clearance. I'll throw up a pic of the orange truck's setup.

Had to put the pickup to work yesterday.....looking forward to hauling stuff with the wagon. Probably not gravel however.

I'm selling the weatherstrip kits....I have a thread going on that. Our first kits should go out this week most likely. You can PM me for one.

glad this was updated. Always great to see an LV.

Whats the story on the ICON dodge truck? would like to see more pics of that too.

We are storing the Icon D200 for a customer.....it was too big for his garage. He's a good friend so he's lucky...it takes up a TON of space. Neat build...plenty of info online about it. Build quality is incredible. Something like 4000 hours of build time in it. Not sure if that is accurate or not but I would guess it's pretty close. Paint quality is insane and the fabrication level is off the charts. At what it cost, I guess that level of build quality should be expected. I'll grab a few pics this week.

Worked on our shock mount today to clear the frame mounted steering box. Should I have bought the Ford F350 or whatever it is shock mount and save both time and money? Of course....but what fun would that be. This took the better part of the day but it looks super cool and bolts to where the factory rivets originally held it in. With some black paint....it will be tough to know it was hand built

Trimmed and test fit of left fender around steering box....all good. This engine compartment is going to look really cool with a nicely detailed 3FE sitting in it. Hopefully that happens soon....

Steering column modified, steering shaft welded....steering pretty much done today....this kit is pricey but it makes things so easy. Splined shaft at 3 spots, double D at end of column. Super safe and very smooth.

Got back on our windows/doors today. Installed a couple of these new latches...I think the date on one was 1980! The shipping info on the one box was Seattle...so at some point that is where this truck was I would assume. I seem to recall that being the story from my buddy who I got it from.

Lots of little uninteresting stuff going on. Breaking things down, cleaning, painting, etc.

Decided to paint the 3FE before it goes in. Hopefully it goes in on Friday....get some driveshafts measured and built. Setup my trans tunnel. And about 1000 other things....

Thought we'd keep the "wagons" in their own area of the shop....wonder if anyone would notice a 3FE swap in the Ferrari when he goes to trade it in. That Ferrari motor in an LV would sound pretty cool....

We get those bushings from Cruiser Outfitters. It's a press fit into the column tubing, we use a zerk fitting to keep it stationary and to allow us to grease it...although not a lot of grease is going to go in there. The shaft kind of gets sandwiched by the U joint and then the steering wheel. There is no forward to back movement in the column. Really nice setup. Obviously requires some mods to the column but it's worth it for safe and very tight steering.

Got this old 3FE painted and installed. Looks like the Ferrari motor will have to wait for the next project.

Transfer case clearance is OK....we'll have to make a slight bump out where the shifter for the transfer case is....the 3 speed is so short compared to the 4 speed. Shouldn't be a huge deal though.

Hopefully get the accessories on the motor next week, do the floor bump out and then of course look at the tunnel to see what we'll need to do there.

We've been plugging away at getting the 3FE assembled...it's pretty much complete.

Working on the radiator frame, shroud and all that good stuff this week.
